2 Letter from the Headteacher Dear Applicant, Welcome to Our Lady and St. Edward s Primary & Nursery Catholic Voluntary Academy and thank you very much for your interest in joining us. We put children at the centre of what we do. Staff are caring and supportive, children are happy; they want to be at school and like coming to school. Each day is treated as a new day and a new chance for everyone to shine. We are inspired by the teachings of St Francis with whom the school and the parish have had close links over many years; up until 2014 a Franciscan Friary was situated next door to the parish church. St Francis asked that we Live the Gospels ; we do this by. Growing in love for God and each other; showing respect, being compassionate, being able to forgive and giving our best in all that we do to achieve our goals. Our curriculum gives our children the opportunities to become independent learners. Themed topics run throughout the year and parents are encouraged to take part and be involved. We would warmly invite you to arrange a visit to get a feel for the school and to meet the staff, pupils and take in the environment which is as important to us as the teaching and learning. Visits can be arranged by calling Tracey Barfield or Donna Moore in the Main Office on If you join us, you will have access to first class CPD opportunities. From 1 September 2018 we will be one of twenty one academies within the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Multi-Academy Trust (see note below) and will remain a member of the Nottingham Catholic Teaching School Alliance, which provides outstanding training opportunities for our staff. Each year the Trust organises a joint INSET day for our staff of all the schools to meet and share best practice. Yours sincerely Mrs Moira Dales Headteacher Additional note Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Multi-Academy Trust: Our school/academy will become part of the Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic Multi-Academy Trust on 1st September 2018, a family of 25 academies within the Catholic Diocese of Nottingham.
