1 Mr. Turner s Class rules 1. No Cruelty Cruelty will STOP whatever activity is happening in class Answer the question in your NB How can your attitude affect the class environment? 2. Respect What is respect? There are over 15 definitions for the word respect, but we re going to use the word as a verb verb (used with object) to show regard or consideration for Answer the question in your NB Could a classroom work without respect?

2 Class Procedures Entering the classroom C level 1 (whisper to one person only if you need help, otherwise level 0!) H Ask 1 or 2 to see if they can help you, then ask teacher A Entering the Classroom M Entering the classroom, placing bag on shelf, taking out materials, then moving to your desk P Students entering the class in an orderly manner, picking up supplies and beginning classwork When you enter the class, follow this procedure 1. Place bags on the back shelf 2. Take out your binder/notebook and any other supplies you need (pens, pencils, etc) Make sure you get everything you need! You cannot return to your bag until the end of class 3. Close your bookbag 4. Head straight to your seat, begin Do Now for the day

3 Class Procedures Coming to class tardy C Level 0 (no talking!) H No help is given A Tardy Sign-in M Enter the classroom, sign in at tardy computer, leave slip (if you have one) move to seat P Student coming in quietly, signing in at tardy computer and quietly rejoining class When you are tardy to class, you are creating an disruption upon entering When you sign in, you are not to create any additional disruptions Remember the tardy consequences 1 st warning 2 nd call home 3 rd detention 4 th and up AP referral

4 Class Procedures Turning in Work C level 0 H No help needed A Turning in classwork M When instructed, students will walk to the blue turn in bit and place work in the correct period box. P Students making sure their name is on their paper and then turning it into the correct period box. When you re done with your work you need to turn it in The blue box has labels for each class period. Students need to turn in work to the correct location. Make sure you name is on the assignment before you turn it in.

5 Class Procedures Using Passes C Level 0 (no talking!) H No help is given A Using Passes M Raise hand with appropriate fingers. P Student raising appropriate finger, filling in planner, and completing the pass given by the teacher. Students are only given 3 restroom/water passes per nine weeks. I will not ask to use the restroom/water when class instruction is being given. There are no passes allowed during the first and last 10min of class.

6 Class Procedures Exiting the classroom C Level 0 (no talking!) H Raise hand and wait for teacher A Class dismissal M NONE! Stay seated until your table is dismissed P students seated quietly, waiting for teacher dismissal When there is 5min remaining in class, your teacher will instruct you to begin dismissal One group at a time, you will head to the back counter and pick up your bag Head back to your desk, and sit quietly THE BELL DOES NOT DISMISS YOU, the teacher does! I will be looking for which group is quite and ready to leave One by one I will dismiss each group

7 Additional Policies No Name Papers: Any assignment turned in without a name on it will not be graded. No name papers will be placed in a no name folder. It is my responsibility to check the no name folder and notify Mr. Turner if my work is found. Papers claimed from the no name folder will receive partial credit. Absences Students are responsible for the work that is missed. I can check the class notebook, the class website, or my shoulder partner. Copies of handouts will be in the absent binder. Agenda I will write my classwork and homework in my planner.

9 Conduct and Consequences 1 st offence: Warning 2 nd offence: Parent phone call home (in class time out) 3 rd offence: Lunch detention and a phone call home (in class or possible out of class time out) 4 th offence: After school detention and phone call home (out of class time out) 5 th offence: Referral to AP and a phone call home
