The primary resource for communication will be Blackboard. The syllabus, course calendar, other handouts, and any announcements will be posted to Blackboard. Grades will not be posted to Blackboard. Grades will be posted in the Custom View under Grades within MyITLab. The student is expected to stay current on information posted to Blackboard. Consider turning on the setting that will you when a new item is posted to Blackboard. 2. You are required to use your my.boisestate.edu address. All communications from the professors will be directed to your my.boisestate.edu. Your my.boisestate.edu must be the address you provide to MyITLab at the time of registration. You are expected to stay current by reading your s in a timely manner. You must use your my.boisestate.edu address when communicating with the address associated with you course: ITM104@boisestate.edu, ITM105@boisestate.edu, or ITM106@boisestate.edu. 3. Adjust your profile in MyITLab so the time zone setting is Mountain Time, not Eastern Time. Lab Decorum: Common courtesy and respect is required in the lab at all times. This includes- 1. Wait your turn to get assistance from the Lab Instructor. Do not interrupt them when they are helping others. 2. Do not ask other students who are doing their homework to help you with yours. 3. Use your ebook and your trainings to try to answer your own questions first. 4. Lab Instructors will only answer specific questions; they will not sit and help you with the entire homework. 5. All conversations working with friends in the lab must be conducted in whispers so as not to disturb others who are working. 6. No cell phone conversations may be held in the lab. 7. Prerequisite Qualifying Exam: If your Microsoft Office Skills are strong enough, consider testing out of ITM 104, ITM 105, or ITM 106. The schedule for the exams is posted on the ITSCM web site. A link is included in Blackboard under Course Documents. Passing the exam allows you to satisfy the associated ITM prerequisite, but does not provide any academic credit. You are limited to two attempts with the same 24 hour time period. If you desire a third attempt, you must wait one week. If you are currently enrolled in an ITM class and you successfully pass the associated exam, you must drop the class on or before the date listed on the registrar web site as Last Date For Refund & Last Date to Register/Add or Drop w/o a W for the current 8 week term. The testing is hosted by the testing center in the Education building. A code to take the Prerequisite Qualifying Exam may be purchased from the bookstore. Please plan on 2 hours for this exam. Academic Honesty: Students are expected to uphold the school's Code of Conduct relating to academic honesty (see Boise State University Undergraduate Catalog). Students assume full responsibility for the content and integrity of the academic work they submit. The guiding principle of academic integrity shall be that a student's submitted work, examinations, problem sets, and projects must be that of the student's own work. Any violations may result in disciplinary action. The penalty for violating the honor code is severe. Any student violating the honor code is subject to receive a failing grade for the course and/or suspension or expulsion from the university. If a student is unclear about whether a particular situation may constitute an honor code violation, the student should meet with the instructor to discuss the situation. Integrity Violations: Particular to MyITLab are a series of features to prevent submitting work that is not yours. The initial focus of these features is to prevent submitting someone else s file are your own and prevent copying and pasting someone else s work into your file and then submitting it as your own. If you are caught with an integrity violation, you will receive a zero for that assignment. Review of integrity violations may be available depending on the situation.

3 Required Materials: Access to MyITLab This is available either by purchasing the book or the ebook from the BSU bookstore or by purchasing access directly from Pearson MyLab and Mastering Course ID s 1 st 8 Week Session ITM 104: smith36385 / ITM 105: smith75742 Windows Computer with MS-Office 2013 MS-Office is available to all students for download. Files produced on Macs with Office, even up to Office 2016, are not recognized by MyITLab. Internet Access and Web Browser Firefox causes the fewest issues. Chrome is the next best option. Pearson and Internet Explorer don t play well together. All computer labs listed on the first page are Windows based, have MS-Office 2013, high speed Internet access and all three popular Windows browsers. As an added bonus, these computer labs have Lab Instructors available to answer questions at the listed times. This course also introduces you to how information technology tools are applied to assist in business communication, problem solving, and decision-making.

Assignments come due at 8:00 pm Mountain Time on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The due dates for each assignment are listed in the Assignment Calendar in MyITLab and in a Course Calendar file under Course Documents in Blackboard. Grader Projects and Simulations may be attempted 3 times to provide an opportunity to improve the grade of individual assignments and promote better understanding as preparation for Quizzes. Quizzes may only be attempted once. Quizzes are taken when and where you desire. There are no in-class exams for the Fall 2015 semester. Mastering MyITLab: The goals of this class center around MS-Office. There are numerous features inside MyITLab that will assist in speeding learning while creating depths to your understanding. There are videos, websites, and PowerPoint presentations to supplement the textbook. Under the Assignment Calendar, there is the Additional Assignment Views that includes To Do. This view lists the next few assignments by their due dates. There are optional assignments for practice. There are review features to see where points were deducted prior to repeating an assignment.
