15 es dminisraion uidelines pions o onsider efore dminisraion re offers a number of adminisraion opions o bes mach he needs of your school. recommends ha you discuss hese opions wih your school or disric adminisraion, esing saff, and faculy well in advance of your re esing. -ay or -ay dminisraion f he enire re program is adminisered in one day, he examinee informaion secions of he es mus be adminisered firs, followed by he four subjec ess (nglish, mah, reading, and science). ecause of he ime required o complee he examinee informaion secions of re, some schools prefer o adminiser re over a wo-day period. n his case, he examinee informaion secions mus be adminisered on ay, and he subjec ess on ay. owever, care mus be aken o ensure ha examinees have he correc answer folder on ay. n no case should he subjec ess of re be adminisered prior o he examinee informaion secions. oing so increases he risk of examinees filling in random bubbles on he es secions if hey did no complee a secion of he es or oherwise making exraneous marks ha can affec scoring. hoosing a esing pion rior o he es day, deermine which adminisraion opion will be used o presen insrucions for he examinee informaion secions. emember ha hese secions should be adminisered prior o he subjec ess and will ake approximaely minues. ou and your saff may selec eiher of he following opions for he adminisraion: pion : oom supervisor reads all direcions aloud o he examinees as hey follow along wih heir copies of nsrucions for ompleing our nswer older. pion : xaminees read mos of he direcions hemselves from heir copies of nsrucions for ompleing our nswer older.

16 es dminisraion uidelines ubjec ess he subjec ess mus be adminisered on a single day o all examinees a he same ime. he ess should be adminisered in he order presened in he es bookle (nglish, mah, reading, and science). llow minues for he subjec ess, including disribuion and collecion of maerials, insrucions, and a break. xcepions o his policy are makeup esing and esing wih accommodaions, which are discussed laer in his manual. xaminee nformaion recommends careful compleion of all examinee idenificaion informaion on he answer folder. hese idenificaion fields (name, dae of birh, gender, suden number, address), allow for posiive idenificaion of examinee es record resuls as well as longiudinal analyses of re and oher ess ha require he maching of individual examinee records. pional or odes lock hree-digi opional sor codes may be used if you wish o receive examinee repors sored by classroom, eacher, or oher grouping. f you use sor codes, you mus prepare direcions o be read o he examinees, insrucing hem o ener he appropriae code in block of he answer folder. n he re school header, you mus also complee block, o you wan examinee repors in sor code order? epors will no be prepared by sor code unless you respond es in block. upplemenal ocal ems lock lock on he re answer folder allows collecion of examinee responses o as many as supplemenal iems developed by your school or disric. uesions for his secion migh cover opics such as he number of hours spen sudying, waching elevision, or working each day or week; ineres in vocaional/echnical courses, or examinee opinions abou various aspecs of he school environmen. uesions mus be designed for examinees o selec only one response per iem. our re ducaor epor will include a able summarizing examinee responses by iem number and response opion. esponses are also included in he examinee daa file. f your school/disric chooses o develop and adminiser supplemenal iems, each room supervisor should have sufficien copies of he iems o disribue o examinees during adminisraion of he examinee informaion secions. esing xaminees rom her chools f you include examinees from oher schools in your re es adminisraion, recommends ha you be prepared o provide hese examinees wih he correc school code number for heir respecive schools o be enered in block of he re answer folder. f examinees from your school are aking re a anoher school, be sure o provide hem wih your correc school code. f you are adminisering re joinly wih anoher school, i is exremely imporan ha you submi compleed answer folders separaely for each school in order for resuls o be recorded for and repored o he correc school. ll examinees should indicae on page of he re answer folder ha hey are esing a heir own school. repare a school header for each school and each grade esed wihin he school, and ship each school s answer folders in separae envelopes. he school idenified on each school header (or is billing eniy) is responsible for paymen of re scoring fees for all answer folders submied under ha header. esing ome-chooled xaminees f you are esing any home-schooled examinees, insruc hem o choose in block and o ener - as heir high school code in block. heir re repors will be mailed direcly o he school where he examinee esed. he answer folder(s) should be submied wih hose of your own examinees. hen hese procedures are followed, home-schooled examinees will no be included in re resuls for your school. owever, your school is responsible for collecing and paying esing fees due o.
