Barnwell will reduce the % of students who score in the BB range by 10% in MA and CA. The number of students reading at or above grade level will increase by 5% as measured by the Gates Test. Currently 32 students are enrolled in this intervention STRATEGY TWO: 100% of teachers will assess student learning by using effective assessment strategies 95% of 1 st quarter assessments were aligned to the curriculum All assessments were reviewed for content, alignment, structure, and DOK Level-suggestions for improvement were given Many assessments are new (CA quarterly assessments) or have been revised so it is difficult to compare scores with the previous year Each PLC completed data analysis on 1 st quarter PLC and made recommendations for changing instruction and assessment Feedback provided to PLCs through Peer Review Process during collaboration time STRATEGY THREE: 100% of teachers will implement research based strategies in their classroom instruction Marzano strategies reviewed in August 100% of classrooms observed had 1 or more strategies present 2 full day walkthrough sessions completed as of November 7. A total of 67 classrooms were visited. Cooperative Learning professional development provided on 8/15, 9/21, and 11/6.

3 97% indicate that the cooperative learning professional development has been very useful-16 teachers were using a cooperative learning strategies based on walkthrough data. STRATEGY FOUR: 100% of teachers will utilize Marzano 6 step vocabulary instructional strategy in their instruction Strategy reviewed in August Expectation set that each content area will develop a vocabulary notebook system for students Based on walkthrough data, 66% of classrooms had evidence of vocabulary instruction STRATEGY FIVE: 100% of students will increase the amount of time the read by 10% On Monday of each week, students read for 25 minutes during Academic Lab Students are asked to log the time they spend reading outside of school. The expectation is that they complete 100 minutes of reading outside of schoo1. By reading in Academic Lab for 25 additional minutes, they have met the goal of increasing their reading time by 10%. Reading incentive program-in development STRATEGY SIX: 100% of identified students (0-6 months below grade level based on Spring 2012 Gates data) will receive additional reading and writing instruction through their social studies class. Students identified and baseline SRI data has been collected Advanced Proficient Basic Below Basic August and October PD sessions have been completed At the August training, teachers committed to implementing one pre-reading and one during reading strategy. 100% of the teachers implemented the strategies. In process of meeting with students who scored in the Basic and Below Basic range to set a Smart Goal to improve their reading. SRI to be administered in December

6 BEHAVIOR ONE-YEAR GOAL (12/13) By the end of the school year, there will be a 7% reduction in the number of incidents resulting in ISS, OSS, and Office Discipline referrals DATA ON GOAL: Number of referrals (as of 11/8/12) This represents a 59% reduction from the previous year.
