33 NEW: Grade 11 English course Starting in Sept. 2018: NBE 3U0 >English: Contemporary Aboriginal Voices This course focuses on themes, forms, and stylistic elements of a range of literary, informational, and graphic texts of First Nation, Métis, and Inuit authors in Canada. They will analyze changes in use of text forms by Aboriginal authors over time periods and within cultures when expressing themes of identity, relationships, and sovereignty in the 21st century. Students will create oral, written, and media texts to explore their own ideas and understanding focusing on the development of literacy, communication, critical and creative thinking skills necessary for success in academic and daily life. The course is intended to prepare students for the compulsory Grade 12 university preparation course. Prerequisite: ENG2D0 33

61 Opening Doors When you choose courses for secondary school, it is important that you do some HONEST self assessment, matching your ability with your interests. A strong foundation is very important for success in grades 11 and 12! 61
