ETN: Doing More with Less: New Budget Realities and Implications for TB Education, Training, and Evaluation This session will focus on how local and state public health agencies are implementing TB education, training, and evaluation with diminishing resources. PEN: Evaluation 101 This session will introduce methods of program evaluation and focus on building simple evaluation action plans for TB programs. PEN: Basic Data Analysis-Statistics 101 This session will focus on statistical analysis for the nonepidemiologist. Participants will learn (1) basic statistical terms, (2) statistical calculations, and (3) qualitative and quantitative measures for evaluation. 11:45-1:00 Lunch (on your own) 1:00-2:15 ETN Plenary: Using Health Literacy to Get Your Message Across The session will inform and show participants how to create and deliver messages that address health literacy issues. PEN Plenary: Cohort Review Participants will hear about state TB program experiences implementing cohort review. Lessons learned and recommendations will be discussed. 2:15-2:30 Break 2:30-3:45 Breakout Session II Choose One ETN: Cultural Competency for Health Education This session will explore the importance of culturally competent health education and the role it plays in influencing the health of people of different cultures. ETN: Advocacy, Communication, and Social Mobilization (ACSM): Implications for TB Education and Training This session will introduce ACSM and focus on its importance in the fight to eliminate TB. ETN: Writing for the Web: From Content to Web Development Participants will learn the essentials of writing effectively for the web. 4 findings and recommendations from the evaluation will be provided. Participants will interact with the top four focus areas and individuals from program areas that are leading evaluation activities. 11:30-1:00 Lunch (on your own) (ETN Workgroup Meet and Greet) 1:00-2:00 ETN: Regional Training and Medical Consultation Center (RTMCC) Highlights This session will showcase the activities of each of the four RTMCCs and highlight future plans. PEN: CDC Guidance for Developing Plans and Reports This session will focus on providing participants with sample interim and annual reports and templates for reporting evaluation progress to CDC. Participants will learn of (1) the components of an evaluation report; and (2) how to provide an effective reporting update. 2:00-2:15 Break 2:15-3:45 ETN: Roundtable Consultations A subject matter expert will be available in each of three topic areas (cultural competency, course development, web development) to share their expertise. Participants are asked to bring specific questions about products or plans they are developing. At the end of the session, participants will leave with a better understanding of their topic issues. PEN: Focal Point Open Forum This session will incorporate a facilitated discussion and input from focal points to provide guidance to the CDC program evaluation team.
