2 School Vision & Mission School Vision A school with a learning culture in which the students are motivated, creative, rational and responsible, enjoy high self-esteem and are characterized by a manifestation of our school motto---justice and Truth. School Mission Our school is dedicated to helping our students to become life-long self-initiated learners by providing them with a well-facilitated and caring environment as well as a balanced education programme relevant to the rapidly changing world. 1
3 School Goals Enable students to attain bi-literacy and trilingualism. Provide students with knowledge of Mathematics, Science, Technology, Humanities and Commerce and equip them with skills for further studies and work in the fast-changing and highly-technological society. Develop students' physical fitness, sporting skills and sportsmanship. Help students identify their interests and expertise in cultural and practical subjects and encourage them to develop their imagination and creativity. Provide opportunities for students to participate in extra-curricular activities, to develop their leadership potential and organizing ability, and to educate them in the meaningful use of leisure time. Develop students' self-respect, self-awareness and self-discipline to foster harmonious human relationships. Help students identify and cultivate personal ethical values and apply these values to contemporary social issues. Help students develop an appreciative and positive attitude towards life and responsibility for their roles in the family and the community. Stimulate students' interest in learning and motivate them to be life-long self-initiated learners. Develop students' analytical, critical and independent thinking, their ability in making rational decisions and skills in solving problems. Provide opportunities for students to have hands-on experience of appropriate new technology. Procure and update resources to facilitate teaching and learning. Develop the school as a pleasant, caring and harmonious learning environment designed to meet the needs of our students. Launch support programmes to assist new teachers and for the professional development of staff. Promote communication among parents, teachers and the school. Provide opportunities for staff, past students and parents to participate in decision-making. Provide opportunities for the involvement of the Parent-Teacher Association, Student Union and Alumni Association in school activities. 2

Provide opportunities for students to raise their self-esteem and self-confidence through participation in non-academic activities (e.g. public speaking, singing, open contests, drama performance, voluntary work, etc.). b. Foster Class Management ( 班級經營 ) i. Organise sharing on the skills and guidance role in class management and pastoral care. ii. Equip students with the knowledge and skills to maintain a positive and self-disciplined classroom routine. iii. Cultivate a strong team spirit through class-based activities and strengthen the roles played by Monitress, Student-on-duty, Chairperson of Class Association, etc through class teacher s supervision. iv. Motivate students to set a class goal to achieve. a. Equip students with the skills to plan, to implement and to evaluate in achieving a goal. b. Nurture self-driven attitudes through school programs. c. Organise meaningful activities to boost students capacity for solving problems and coping with hardships. a. Provide individual counselling and regular programmes in Career Centre. b. Collaborate with NGOs, such as St. James Settlement to run Career Programmes including Career Mapping. c. Organise activities for S3 students on streaming and the NSS curriculum. d. Arrange talks on JUPAS, E-APP and post-secondary institutions applications. e. Invite tertiary and post-secondary institutions to offer on-site Time Scale
