4 AUGUST 10 & 11 FEATURED SPEAKERS AUGUST 10 Speaker AUGUST 11 Speaker Assessment Expert Dr. Rick Stiggins Learn about assessment for learning practices in the classroom and their impact on student success. Rick Stiggins founded the Assessment Training Institute (ATI) in 1992 to fulfill the mission of providing teachers and school leaders with the professional development needed to fulfill their rapidly evolving assessment responsibilities. Rick has authored dozens of articles and books advocating for teacher assessment expertise and assessment quality. For two decades, Rick and the ATI team have developed and refined innovative approaches to help practitioners assess accurately and use assessment results productively to support, not merely monitor, student learning. Assessment Leadership for Teacher and Student Success In his presentation, Rick Stiggins will outline seven specific assessment actions districts, schools and teachers must take if they wish to narrow the gap between students who meet and don t meet essential achievement standards. He will provide teachers with the means to conduct a careful self-evaluation of the extent to which they have taken these actions. The result will be a local assessment action plan to be carried out in the service of teacher and student success.
