AUD_BASIC:Ability to understand and have a full command of the basic concepts of linear systems and related functions and transforms, theory of electrical circuits, electronic circuits, physical principle of semiconductors and logic families, electronic and photonic devices, materials technology and how they can be applied to the problems inherent to engineering. 2 Teaching methodology Directed learning hours include large group lectures in which the lecturer briefly presents the general learning objectives related to the basic concepts of the subject. The lecturer then uses practical exercises to motivate and encourage students to participate actively in their learning. Support material in the form of a detailed course plan will be used via ATENEA: learning objectives by content, concepts, examples, assessment activity programming, directed learning and bibliography. They also consist of problem-solving classes in which students work in groups of 3 or 5 on exercises or numerical problems related to the specific learning objectives of each of the course contents. These sessions aim to develop generic competencies such as teamwork. Thus, cooperative learning methods are applied in the classroom. The last type of directed learning hours consists of laboratory practicals as pairwork, aimed at developing basic instrumental skills in an electronic laboratory and at introducing students to applications of the scientific method of problem solving in the electronic laboratory. Before and after each session, students are asked to perform tasks outside class either individually or in groups. These tasks form the basis of directed activities. Other self-directed learning activities include directed reading and problem solving. Learning objectives of the subject On completing the subject, students will be able to do the following: - Apply laws for solving electronic circuits. - Understand how the main electronic circuits and devices work. - Circuit analysis with electronic devices - Use CAD tools for solving the problems related to electrical circuits. - Identify componentsand perform basic electronics assemblies - Use the basic tools and instruments of electronic laboratories. 5 Qualification system The grading of the subject (NF) is calculated as: NF = max(0,3 NP1+0,3 NP2; 0,6 EF) + 0,1 LAB1+0,15*LAB2+0,15*PRB The laboratory activities are required to pass the course. The course can be recovered by means of the final exam grade Regulations for carrying out activities - Carrying out both lab activities (LAB1 and LAB2) and exercises (PRB) are necessary for grading the course. - NP1 and NP2 correspond to 1st. and 2nd. midterms, whereas EF is considerd as reconduction (or Final) Exam. - NP1 is carried out during the 1st midterm period according to the schedule of ESEIAAT (October-November) - NP2 is carried out in the last session of the course. - EF is carried out during the 2nd. midterm period according to the schedule of ESEIAAT (January). - A document containg formulae used in the curse must be downloaded from ATENEA and printed for developing the exams (NP1, NP2 and EF). The use of mobile phones or any other device with Internet connection is strictly forbidden. - The NF formula above takes into acount two possibilities: 1) the improvement of NF when results from NP1 and NP2 are favorable, and 2) the reconduction of the grading of this subject when results from NP1 and NP2 are not favorable.
