4 Multiservice Delivery Platform (MSDP) Operation & Maintenance LZU R1A Description The Ericsson Multiservice Delivery Platform (MSDP) Operation & Maintenance course is targeted for people intending to manage and monitor a deployed MSDP environment. The purpose of the course is to get a person introduced to the MSDP as quickly as possible, allowing him or her to perform administration, monitoring and troubleshooting tasks. Learning objectives On completion of this course the participants will be able to: 1 Provide an overview of MSDP 1.1 Explain the structure and architecture of MSDP 1.2 Describe the request flow inside the MSDP 1. Show the different tools provided by MSDP 1.4 Explain the requirements for MSDP deployment 2 Perform MSDP environment fault tracing 2.1 Interpret events and alarms provided by MSDP 2.2 Analyze different logs generated by MSDP nodes 2. Handle MSDP environment monitoring and deploy tool 2.4 Trace faults and perform troubleshooting Handle common MSDP issues.1 Identify and analyze common MSDP issues.2 Perform troubleshooting of common MSDP issues 4 Use MSDP administration tool 4.1 Describe administration tool capabilities 4.2 Perform administration operations 5 Provide useful documentation for different O&M operations Target audience The target audience for this course is: Service engineers, Support engineers, Administration engineers, Managed Service engineers

5 Prerequisites Successful completion of the following courses: Participants of the course must have technical basic skills in the following areas: General Linux (Redhat) knowledge Java / J2EE / JSP Web applications Application server Web Services XML Duration and class size The length of the course is 4 days and the maximum number of participants is 10. Learning situation Theory mixed with demonstration and practical exercises in the classroom, applying previously acquired knowledge in a workshop like environment. The limited number of participants ensures that substantial attention is given to each participant by the instructor(s).
