Introduction Within the areas of education, pedagogy and psychology, there is a constant conversation about the most appropriate methodologies for favoritism the cognitive development (acquisition of knowledge through the perception) of the human being. It is General consensus that young people's learning of the sciences known as experimental (biology, physics, chemistry, etc.) is greatly facilitated when concepts and phenomenon are approached with an experimental complementation, which proves the model and concepts studied and the perception at the place of the phenomenon addressed, favoring in the end the fixation of knowledge. The project entitled Active Methodology in the Universities, from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, from University of Taubaté aims to expand the experiments to other disciplines, so to include the concept of active methodology first to the students of the Department and in the future to help teachers of other institutions. In this way it offers a greater support to the students of the courses of Mechanical Engineering and Mechanical Production Engineering that as future professionals of the area can, still in the university scope, associate the theoretical concepts with the experimental ones. The Project will always be presented by students linked with the University of Taubaté, either as presenters or even assistants, receiving at the end of each month a certificate of completion. Justification Many teaching professionals have discussed and pointed out the many factors that prevent the improvement of educational practice in teaching any subject. Specifically in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, some disciplines have an excessive number of dependents who do not absorb the concepts only with the theoretical teaching. In this conception, the history of the construction of knowledge could be part of a methodological proposal that explored the dynamic aspect of the facts that made possible the discovery of this knowledge throughout history. This approach could become fundamental, since in the individual experimentation of some particularities of each discipline, using experimental kits for their understanding, the student would sediment the concept more readily. Still in context, the Active Methodology in the Universities project would be freely available to teachers from the University of Taubaté, a lot of disciplines. Also in the fairs that the University offers, generating interest to the future students of this Institution, by the courses offered. At this point, the Active Methodology Project in the Universities is fully justified because it brings to the fore experiments that generate in students and teachers a facility of theoretical-practical understanding, as well as relating the discipline to everyday use, stimulating interest in learning. In pursuit of the increased demand for courses linked to this Department in general and reaffirming the social, scientific, ethical and political function of the University of Taubaté, this project meets all these expectations, seeking to meet the demand and even surpass. 1

2 Objective Increase the demand for the Mechanical Engineering and Production courses at the University of Taubaté, for the continued exposure of experiments in these areas, which favor the interest of the student; Integrate Teaching, Extension and Research, to carry out joint programs with these three areas, considering that the inseparability between them, must be based on the profile of the professional citizen who wants to form; Apply the concept of social technology, which refers to the set of techniques and methodologies that have been developed, developed and / or applied in the interaction with and appropriate to the population, which represent solutions for social inclusion; To present the Active Methodology Project in the Universities in public and private schools in Taubaté and the Region, reaffirming the institution's concept and, in this way, to oxygenate the bonds between learning and reality; To reaffirm that the Social Extension carried out by this University is extremely important both in its structure, as well as for the society that interacts. Implement the active methodology within the theoretical class, through exhibitions of the Project by the teacher or by the monitors of the discipline; Present Active Methodology in the Universities at internal events of the University of Taubaté, such as ENIC, Engineering Week, Mathematics and Physics Week and Opportunities Fair; To establish partnerships with other Universities, which develop projects to encourage experimentation; Partner with companies in the region, seeking financial support and reaffirming the name of the University of Taubaté; Present Active Methodology in the Universities in specific Congresses of the area, promoting the Institution in technical-scientific events. Target Audience Internal Students of all undergraduate courses at the University of Taubaté interested in understanding their scientific culture. Specifically students of the courses of Mechanical and Production Engineering and any area of Exact Sciences. External Students from public and private schools in the Taubaté region are unmotivated with learning and / or interested in learning about this project that the University of Taubaté would have as a learning differential. General public concerned. Methodology The said project provides a series of actions that should be developed by its coordinator with the support of undergraduate students chose to use the 5W2H management system. Indicated when there is a need to put a plan into action, with the need to make decisions about the main elements that will guide the implementation of the plan. t is a useful plan because it offers several uses of the 5W2H technique, from the simplest and objective versions to the development of a tactical and operational business plan. 5W2H, also known as action plan, is a tool so obvious and used that there is no agreement on who developed it. As a tool, it has gained more popularity with the dissemination of quality management techniques and, later, with project management techniques. When something needs to be deployed, the following settings enter the scene: What should be done? Why should it be implemented? 2

3 Who is responsible for the action? Where should it be run? When should it be implemented? How should it be conducted? How much will implementation cost? The 5W2H tool can be used alone to implement a simple decision in the company, such as the acquisition of a new equipment or the execution of a specific activity. In these simpler situations, filling in the 5W2H fields in a form made in a text editor, spreadsheet or even in the body of an electronic message is enough for the preparation of the action plan, but the 5W2H is very useful when coupled with other analytical tools or plans that require action. In consecrated analyzes like SWOT, BCG, 5 Porter Forces or PEST, after completion it is necessary to define what should be done. In SWOT, for example, we analyze the strengths and weaknesses and the opportunities and threats of a company, considering internal and external aspects. Many believe the process is over, but what needs to be done to improve weaknesses, seize opportunities and minimize threat risks. At this moment, 5W2H becomes essential, since it is necessary to define the following questions: What will be done to capture the opportunity? Why will it be done this way? Who will be responsible for capturing this opportunity? Where will the actions be implemented to transform the opportunity into results for the company? How will the opportunity come true? How much will be invested in the realization of the opportunity? In situations involving the implementation of various decisions in an orchestrated way, such as in project management or in a business plan, 5W2H is also effective. How to use: The 5W2H tool is composed of seven fields in which the following information must appear: 1) Action or activity to be carried out or the problem or challenge to be solved (what); 2) Justification of the motives and objectives of what is being executed or solved (why); 3) Definition of who will be responsible for the execution of what was planned (who); 4) Information about where each of the procedures will be executed (where); 5) Schedule when the procedures will take place (when); 6) Explanation of how procedures will be executed to achieve the set goals (how); 7) Limitation of how much will each procedure cost and the total cost of what will be done (how much)? The development of Active Methodology activities in the Universities follows a series of procedures that may occur in different orders and / or simultaneously. The development of the methodology will be carried out in stages: A) Planning: In this item, we will discuss weekly between coordinators and students all the experiments to be presented, as well as the condition of their operation. In this way, the training of monitors/trainees is essential for the presentation of Active Methodology in the Universities, as well as the development of new experiments. The contribution of scholarship students is extremely important in the development of activities. Initially, low cost experiments will be prioritized. B) Execution: In this item, the presentations of the Active Methodology in the Universities project will be held both in the Department and at other times, such as participation in the Scientific Initiation Meeting and in the Extension Seminar and participation in the events promoted by the University of Taubaté. The activities developed by the Active Methodology in the Universities are described below and meet the Normative Aspects related to the Extension University regarding Articles 65, 66 (paragraphs 1 and 2), 67, Article 42, Article 119 (paragraph 2), As well as meet. The conceptual extension guidelines advocated by the National Extension Plan such as: impact and transformation, dialogic interaction, interdisciplinarity. The activities and their articulation with teaching and research, as well as their forms of operationalization are described below: 3

4 Research: The project has students as apprentices, of the exact courses, involved in the reality in which the University of Taubaté is inserted; The project uses the already consolidated scientific and technological knowledge to subsidize extension actions. Courses :The fellowship students of Engineering will be involved in further training courses for the presentation of Active Methodology in the Universities. Events: The project discloses the University of Taubaté reaffirming its social, technical, scientific, ethical and political function. Regular presentations will be held at events inside and outside the University. Provision of Services: The project seeks to share the knowledge of discipline in focus with society, undoing the concept that the discipline is difficult to learn, loaning the kits to private institutions, as well as elaborate specific experiments according to the request of the client. Publications: The project can stimulate the production of Research and the diffusion of scientific production by the students and teachers involved in this project. Gains for Teaching: The project involves the most diverse levels of education - fundamental, middle, technical and higher; Promotes the integration of teaching, systematization and dissemination of knowledge; Research, sharpening the curiosity and moving the student to the discovery; Extension, showing the applicability and socialization of knowledge. The practice developed in the project shares knowledge with the society that contributes to insertion in the labor market, besides promoting cultural exchange, institutional and scientific divulgation; Site, newspaper, radio and TV of the University of Taubaté itself, and will also be exported to the community. Technical Resources: The Active Methodology Project in the Universities project will be deployed from the Department made possible to carry out these projects: Placement or permission to use an exclusive Notice Board for Disclosure of the activities of the Active Methodology Project in the Universities project; Support of the mechanical workshops of the Mechanics Department for the development of experiments; Availability of inputs (wood, wiring, wooden boxes, etc.), which will be used to generate the kits, which will be later listed and eventually replaced due to their updating. For the development of regular project activities, we have the support of the Mechanical Engineering Department and all its infrastructure, employees and services. We need to transport the materials for participation in internal and external events. Describe Actions Planned for the Year 2017 and Definition of pilot disciplines; 2. Prepare the experiment kits for the Active Methodology Project in the Universities Project; 3. Apply the methodology according to established disciplines; 4. Define the number of experiments by disciplines and contents; 5. Perform at least 5 presentations of the Active Methodology Project in the Universities Project, in the Mechanical Engineering Department; 6. Conduct at least two weekly presentations from 6:15 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. for University of Taubaté students and professors; 7. Publicize internally and externally the activities of the Active Methodology Project in the Universities Project in Taubaté and nearby cities; 8. Participation of the Active Methodology Project in the Universities Project in events promoted by University, such as the professions fair and CICTED, scientific initiation Program; 4

5 9. To consolidate a company from the region as the official sponsor of the Active Methodology Project in the Universities Project; 10. Increase the number of experiments available in the Active Methodology Project in the Universities Project by 30%; 11. Accomplish 12 presentations of the Active Methodology Project in the Universities Project, in the Mechanical Engineering Department and in the schools of the region, involving University of Taubaté students and public and private network; Establish partnerships with public schools in Taubaté to develop and test the experiments of the Active Methodology Project in the Universities Project; 12. Increase the participation of the Active Methodology Project in the Universities Project in events promoted by University of Taubaté by 30%; 13. Expand the number of sponsors of the region for the Active Methodology Project in the Universities Project. Impact assessment Effectiveness It will be evaluated by the relation between the resources spent on the Project and the number of people involved in the project, as well as improving the student's learning performance. It will be evaluated through the testimonials of the participants and / or the people who used the Active Methodology in the Universities. The aim is to develop the Active Methodology in the Universities Project in the short, medium and long term: Maintain and improve the quality of teaching at the University of Taubaté, (evaluated by ENADE - National Student Performance Exam); Increase the number of students interested in becoming students of the University of Taubaté (selective process); Improve teaching at the University of Taubaté (assessed by the ENEM - National High School Examination); Increase the number of teachers interested in participating in the extension courses, Distance Education, specialization and masters in the area of Exact of the University of Taubaté; Increase the visibility of the University of Taubaté.
