1. Two volunteers pass out comp. books. When you get it, you may check your score. 2. For today s Bell Ringer. Keep your Table of Contents and other pages updated. The title is at the top of this page. 3. Metacognition is our vocabulary word we re focusing on today. It s defined for you 4. For today s Bell Ringer, answer the following using complete sentences: why is it important to know what you know? (Consider also, why is it important to know what you don t know?) 5. Sit silently and wait for further directions.
I m still excusing you from weekly A3K choice articles, this week due to the confusion. In your holding area, next week: read Earth (A Gift Shop) in your Collections textbook and complete the Analyzing the Text Questions 1-6 on p.256 & the Language Conventions Spelling Questions 1-4 p. 258 due Thursday, Dec. 14 (A) & Friday, Dec. 15 (B.) Teenagers and New Technology due for partial credit. Collections textbook needed next class. Class Dojo rewards
1. Only people passing out papers are allowed out of their seat at this time. 2. Those passing out papers are to look at names only, not scores. 3. Hold all questions for general review. 4. As a privilege, music can be played during Paper Pass Back if the class behavior shows we can handle it. 5. When the teacher needs our attention (music stops, or Give Me Five) the talking stops and we re ready to listen.

Check the class blog > Recycling tab for more guidance: barkers1duvalschools.wordpress.com 1. According to the text, why did Cinderella lose her shoe? A. She was barefoot to begin with B. She was forgetful C. She was in a hurry D. She was punished by her evil stepmother I chose B-she was forgetful. The correct answer is C-she was in a hurry. I got this wrong because I bubbled B without reading the other options. If I had kept reading, I would have seen that C was a better option. To avoid making this mistake in the future I will read all the answer choices before bubbling in the answer.
1) Absent/Late Work 2) Teacher-Led Small Group 3) Independent Work 4) Early Finisher Materials: Computer Assorted other absent work Materials: Pencil Blue Rose Test packet (table by the door) Cover sheet (table by the door) Assorted other absent work Materials: Pencil Separate piece of paper Bubble sheet Test (class set LEAVE IN CLASS!) Materials: Computer Pen/pencil 1. Check the absence folder & blog for the days missed. If you have questions, ask the teacher. 2. Sit at your assigned desk and work on your absent work. 3. When you finish, move on to the independent work. If you were making up the Blue Rose Comprehension Check move on to the early finisher work. Sit at the round table, when called over. Bring your necessary materials (above.) Ms. Barker is conferencing with small groups to discuss similar missed questions and why we missed them, so we can avoid making similar mistakes in the future. 1. Work on your recycle for the comprehension check independently. 2. If you have questions, ask 3 before me. 3. Recycles due by Monday, Dec. 18 (regardless of A or B day.) Choose among the options listed below: 1. Get caught up on any late work for this class. 2. Work on work for another class.
RESPECT HER PERSONAL SPACE & LET S DO WHAT S LOGICAL. IF YOU RE SEATED, RAISE YOUR HAND AND SHE LL BE WITH YOU A.S.A.P. IF YOU MEET WHILE BOTH UP, FORM A LINE RATHER THAN A FLASH MOB.
MS. BARKER IS ABOUT TO BE INVISIBLE. GET ANY HALL PASSES SIGNED AND QUESTIONS ANSWERED. SHE LL SOON BE UNAVAILABLE, EXCEPT FOR EMERGENCIES.
MS. BARKER IS INVISIBLE. INTERRUPTIONS FOR EMERGENCIES ONLY. ASK 3, THEN ADD YOUR NAME TO THE LIST. MS. BARKER WILL BE WITH YOU A.S.A.P. IT LL BE EVEN SOONER IF YOU DO NOT INTERRUPT!
HOMEWORK: Complete late work. No Weekly A3Ks this week. Collections textbook needed next class. DO THE FOLLOWING: 1.Submit your recycling ONLY IF FINISHED. Return class sets to table by the door. Nothing needed for the closing. 2.Return teacher s supplies you borrowed where they belong 3.Throw away trash 4.Pack-up personal belongings 5.Sit silently and wait for teacher to dismiss you Does our cart look how it started?
How can being aware of your own metacognition* help you in life? Your ticket out the door today will be returning the Blue Rose Comprehension Check packet. *metacognition is what you know and what you don t know; being self-aware
