2 Welcome to Bulls Country! Greetings from the Office of Orientation! We are excited that you and your family have chosen the University of South Florida and we can t wait to welcome you to the extended Bulls family. We know that you are planning to attend Glo-Bull Beginnings Week from January 5 8, 2016, so we want to be sure you have all of the information you need to get the most out of orientation for both you and your family. The following e-packet contains important information about arrival. Please review the following information thoroughly as it will assist you in planning your arrival to USF for Glo-Bull Beginnings Week. Arrival to USF s Campus You are responsible for all travel arrangements to USF s Tampa Campus. On January 5, when you arrive to USF s campus, please proceed to the John & Grace Allen Building located at the end of the Leroy Collins Boulevard. You will check in at the Office of Orientation, #102 in the Allen Building. The address to USF is 4202 E. Fowler Ave, Tampa, Florida, This will take you to the main entrance on Fowler Ave. You will enter campus on Leroy Collins Boulevard and proceed to the end of this street for the check in location. Driving Directions Please visit our website for driving directions and GPS information for campus. If you will be driving to campus, please park in level 3 or higher of the Leroy Collins Parking Facility. Go to & choose Travel Planning Student Schedule Glo-Bull Beginnings Week is jam packed with a ton of great information. We ve designed this program with you, the international student, specifically in mind. We know you have unique needs in coming to USF and we want to answer all of your questions and help you feel right at home at USF throughout your Orientation experience. As part of Glo-Bull Beginnings, you will attend an Orientation day with American students. You may also want to review the schedules for these days. 3 Information for Families What to Wear It s officially winter in Tampa which means that it could be lower temperatures of 50 degrees F or warmer temperatures of around 70 degrees. The best thing to do is to prepare for hot or cold temperatures. Additionally, all of the buildings on campus are air conditioned and kept at relatively cool temperatures. We would encourage you to bring a light jacket or sweatshirt to put on inside the buildings during the Orientation program. Family and Guest Check In Family members are able to help their student move in on campus, but may not stay overnight. You will attend the the Glo-Bull Beginnings programming with your student. There are sessions on the Orientation day that are specific to families and supporting your student. For more information about your schedule, go to & choose Schedule at a Glance. Meals As part of the Orientation fee, students and families have four meals included: breakfast on January 6, dinner on January 6, and breakfast and lunch at your designated Orientation session. Students and guests are responsible for all other meals. For More Information For more information about your family programming, go to & choose Families. Preparing for Your First Day Campus Business We know you may still have some outstanding campus business to attend to. As such, we have provided time during the orientation program for campus business to be resolved. Please use this time wisely to get questions answered, submit documents, or address concerns. This would be the ideal time to resolve concerns regarding housing, immunizations, health records, finances, dining, and any other questions you may have. We strongly advise that you try to resolve as many of the campus items as possible on Wednesday, January 6.

4 Program Details Student and Family Programs We know that coming to another country and leaving your student behind can be difficult. That s why we want to make your transition as easy as possible. Our program is designed to allow you to be in orientation sessions with your student about half of the time, while the other half will be separated. As part of the Family program, we will provide you with family specific information that will help you support your student. The student program will allow your students to learn all about USF and build long-lasting friendships with their peers. Please expect to see your student at least once per day, but also understand that this is the first step in helping your student grow independent so they can be successful as a USF Bull. English-Only Program Please know that all classes and communication from USF will always be in English. As such, all orientation sessions, including marketing and additional materials, will only be provided in English. Should you need an additional family member to attend the orientation for translation purposes, please contact our office directly with your request as soon as possible. We will continue to send updates to your USF student account. Please check this account regularly and visit for additional up-to-date information.
