1 Questions and Answers from Roster Verification Webinars: April 10, 11, 12 10:00 AM Presented by Dr. Alicia Parker, Accountability and Assessment Chris Yahn: Hello everyone. You can type questions in this area and they will be answered during the session. Chris Yahn: Thank you for taking time to learn about your responsibilities with roster verification. We will start promptly at 10:00. Chris Yahn: You can ask questions by typing in the bottom of the chat window and then click on the arrow to send to everyone. Please do not send to only the presenter. We want everyone to see the questions. Chris Yahn: The questions will later be copied as a Q&A. Marianne VanArsdall: Since charter school teachers are not Volusia County Schools employees, is this process even necessary for a Charter school? Chris Yahn: Yes, Charter Schools should verify the rosters also. This supports state legislation. Brian Zinck: Isn't April 30th a day off for teachers? Chris Yahn: Yes, so they will need to turn in on April 27th. Thanks! John r. De Vito: So teachers go back and see if their roster from a month ago is correct? What if they do not? Chris Yahn: This is not mandatory. This roster is used for the value added score. It would be in the teacher's best interest to do this. Hopefully they will take advantage of this opportunity. Janice Weil: Will school level coordinators use the same login as the Principal? Chris Yahn: Alicia will show that you can add school based users so you will each have one. Ana Hormazabal: Roster Verification for Volusia Teachers has a date of 4/4/11. Is this date correct? Chris Yahn: The date that you are verifying is February 17th. The date you see is the date that the document was written. Michael Leader: I have several rosters with course names, but no teacher names. What do I do with these rosters? Marianne VanArsdall: Will helpdesk personnel be given a logon so that we can see what the users are seeing?

2 Chris Yahn: The helpdesk has software for remote access yes. Brian Zinck: My principal must have already logged in and I can't get on. Alicia Parker: Yes brian. I left you a voic about that. :) Call me after this webinar Chris Yahn: Glad the link is working. We will add that link to the Race to the Top area of the district website in case you need it. The link will be there in about an hour. Brian Zinck: Ok, Alicia Hollie Newnam: I am unable to log in. Hollie Hollie Newnam: got it, had to use her entire last name! Hollie Colleen Kirvan: Not sure about Hospital Homebound? Lawrence Temple: I am unable to log in Chris Yahn: Thanks for your patience. We will help with logins after the webinar. Chris Yahn: Your screen may look different because you need to add information to get new login information. Janice Weil: I was logged in but got kicked off. I can't read your screen it's too small. Chris Yahn: Click meeting, manage my settings, and click full screen. Robert Ouellette: what happens if you a teacher listed that is not yours? John r. De Vito: what if they do not have an e mail? I have teachers who started in January, are listed, but no e mail... Do I type in e mail? Chris Yahn: All the rosters are being printed and sent to the school teachers are to do this offline using the printed rosters. Chris Yahn: yes you add the address. Valerie Saraceno: Do pull out, OT,PT etc. other than classroom teachers have to do this? Chris Yahn: All rosters should be verified. Chris Yahn: If there is a question about rosters, you should talk to the principal. Rosters may be set up for a variety of methods such as co teaching. Kathy Carman: Will this be a yearly process following Survey 3? Chris Yahn: Yes, roster verification will be a process each year.

Jennifer Hoag: Please be reminded that if the student was ENROLLED in the course as of February 17 but they were absent on that day, the student MUST remain on the teacher s roster Ruth McArdle: Thank you Joy Walker: When adding additional users do we create a username and password for them? safaraja: Thank you. John r. De Vito: What do we do with rosters without names? Chris Yahn: Yes, you create the user name and password. Carol Lawrence: I am not able to view school 7001, Volusia Virtual Schoo. I am assuming that I will be able to view our ful;l time students when I can view here. What about the part time VVS student. Will they be listed on the high school rosters or VVS's? Chris Yahn: Carol, Alicia is checking into that now. Chris Yahn: You can verify or give to someone with knowledge of that class Colleen Kirvan: I can't log in and I am not sure about Hospital/Homebound? Alicia Parker: Colleen I will call you on H/H JoAnn Schafer: We leave students on the class roster even if they are no longer in our school? Alicia Parker: JoAnn you are verifying enrollment on February 17. If they have left you after the 17th yes you leave them on. smhovis: I have one hospital homebound to Sharon Hovis Twana D Brown: Thank you for the Webinar Class Wendy Sydeski: Do we have to verify all teachers addresses? Chris Yahn: Wendy, not really but if a teacher tries to log in you may want to check and make sure the address is correct. Teachers really verify rosters on paper. Wendy Sydeski: Thank you! 4 Mark McNabb: I'm from Boston Avenue Charter School and I am not able to log on. My school number is 7961 Chris Yahn: Mark, are you using 64 in front of the school number? Mark McNabb: Yes. and Gaw for the PW Mark McNabb: I just found out that someone has already logged in. Thanks for the help. Chris Yahn: Mark, great then I think you can get in once they make your account. Dianne Atkinson: I can't log in I used our number and the principal's last name Chris Yahn: Dianne, did you use 64 in front of your school number? Dianne Atkinson: yes, I did Dianne Atkinson: Also the principal had not logged in yet. Chris Yahn: Diane, Alicia is checking on this we are thinking that someone else at the school has already logged in. Chris Yahn: Dianne, Alicia is creating an account for you right now. Beverly Mallory: I'm unable to log in using the 6 digits nor the information given to me by our FTE personnel Chris Yahn: Beverly, did the FTE administrator already log in if so, they need to set you up as a user. Beverly Mallory: I asked her to go back and list me as a user. Beverly Mallory: Yes. She gave me the user name & password she said she set up Lisa Buchanan: Do we maintain the signed rosters at our school? Chris Yahn: Lisa, yes you maintain the signed rosters at the school. Lisa Buchanan: Because of how elementary teachers are put in Crosspointe, classroom teachers have six identical rosters. Can we just have the teacher verify one of them? Chris Yahn: Lisa, you can use one to verify but if you have a change you will need to make the change to all 6. Lisa Buchanan: Got it! Thanks! Dianne Atkinson: thank you for your help Thomas Robare: With ESE support facilitation, the students appear on the ESE side for support (2 days per week) and the gen ed side, how will value added be calculated for this?

5 Alicia Parker: Tom they are counted once for each teacher. Julie Lipan: just to be clear, we are verifying students enrolled on February 17th, if they are absent, that is ok? Alicia Parker: Julie yes you are correct. Enrolled is what we are verifying. Chris Yahn: Another school in Volusia hopefully that school verifies and adds the student that's where working with the district will help. If the student has left the district it's just removing. Pat Kicklighter: I'm FTE admin for school 9830, which is only some prek and birth 2 students receiving therapies. Does this school # apply to this activity? Alicia Parker: I will call you to explain. Terry Calkins: If a teacher is out on leave am I the one to varify the roster Marie E. Stratton: I have downloaded both documents...how do I get back to the webinar screen Alicia Parker: marie: you are in the webinar screen if you have downloaded and you are using this chat. Look at the bottom of your computer screen and all your programs should be there to choose from so you can switch back and forth between adobe and the roster verification internet site. sharilou: I can't save to my computer these files... Alicia Parker: sharilou do not right click. There is a botton at the bottom of the box that says ''save to my computer''. Left click that button. No right clicks work in adobe connect. sharilou: WOW!
