1 Department of Mechanical-Mechatronics Engineering (MME) The LNMIIT was founded in 2002 as a joint effort between Rajasthan State Government and Lakshmi and Usha Mittal Foundation's philanthropic initiative. The Institute started in July 2003 and was granted Deemed-to-be University status by UGC in 2006 under the De-Novo category. The 100-acre green residential campus is located in a serene atmosphere on the outskirts of India's pink city, Jaipur. In the first decade, eight undergraduate (UG) batches approximately 1392 students have graduated. Currently, the total number of undergraduate students is 1274 (approximately) and of post graduate (PG) students is 52 (approximately). Girls constitute more than 30% of total students. ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT: The department of Mechanical-Mechatronics is one of the pioneering departments of the Institute. The department has highly qualified and dedicated faculty members engaged in teaching, research and development with the aim of achieving excellence in their fields. Department also offers Doctoral programme in several areas like Mechanical Design, Production, and Thermal Engineering. The department is equipped with latest software like ANSYS, SolidWorks, Msc Nastran/Patran/Marc/Adams, MATLAB/Simulink, VI-Rail. A National Instruments Centre of Excellence has also been established. ABOUT THE TRAINING: To meet the industrial requirements and challenges in the field of structural analysis of components or assemblies, department is running the different module of structural analysis packages (Module - A, Module - B, and Module - A+B) using latest Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) software. The outstation participants can avail the accommodation facility in institute hostel based on availability, however the participants need to pay separately for food to avail the canteen facility of the institute. The local participants can avail the institute bus facility on nominal charge basis. The time schedule of the institute bus is available on the institute website. The payment of the registration fee should be in the form of Demand Draft/Local Cheque in favour of LNMIIT Gymkhana Fund, Jaipur (Details may be found at the end of the document). Lodging charges can be paid directly in the institute. 3 FACULTY: 1. Amit Kumar Srivastava (Ph.D., S.V. National Institute of Technology, Surat) is Professor in Mechanical-Mechatronics department. Have over fifteen years of Industrial and teaching experience. Earlier, he worked in Atkins India Bangalore, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited Nasik, Rites Limited Gurgaon and Dehradun Institute of Technology Dehradun. PAST EXPERINCE / RESEARCH AREAS: Engineering Fracture Mechanics, Fatigue, Finite Element Method, Stress Analysis, Composite Material, Progressive Damage Analysis, and Extended Finite Element Method. 2. Vikram Sharma (Ph.D., Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi) is Associate Professor in Mechanical-Mechatronics. Has over thirteen years of teaching experience. He holds master degree in CAD/CAM from MNNIT, Allahabad and has published several paper in national and international journals and conferences. PAST EXPERINCE / RESEARCH AREA: Computer Aided Design, Computer Aided Manufacturing, Supply chain modeling and performance evaluation in automobile sector.
