COURSE SYLLABUS INTRODUCTION The Lean Practitioner course gives an advanced level of the lean Methodology and includes Lean Overview and Practitioner training: The History of Lean, it origins and how it came to the western world Lean/Continuous Improvement approach Getting things right first time Creativity using the skills of our staff to produce the ideas The purpose of the Five Principles of Lean (Value - Value Stream - Flow - Pull - Perfection) The necessity of the outcomes of the Eight Wastes TIM WOODS (Transport, Inventory, Motion, Waiting, Over-processing, Overproduction, Defects and Skills) The Eight Wastes in the Office/Services - how they differ from the manufacturing approach Advanced Problem solving (use of the Route Cause Analysis that includes the five Why s when issues and problems affect a process)

8 CERTIFICATION On successful completion of the (uniquely) Lean Foundation milestone you will receive through the post your certification award for that qualification and then move to the practitioner phase. Assessment is via a 50 Multiple Choice Question Exam and the successful submission of 20 exercises, each of which takes about 10 minutes. One exercise will take minutes and the certificate will be awarded on a successful completion of the overall course. Certification is awarded in accordance to the Lean worldwide industry recognised standard and is set IAW ISO Part 1 & 2. In total you will receive 2 beautifully hand crafted certificates which are embossed by hand with legal foils showing your certification.
