Be prepared to be of service to both God and man. Give God first place in your lives and trust him to lead you. We wish you all the very best for your bright future, May you achieve success forever With a new day comes new strength and new thoughts 3

4 FAREWELL MESSAGE Farewell message by: Dr. D. Rai, Director Infinity Management & Engineering College, Sagar Dear Students, I am happy to note that you stand at the cusp of a new chapter of your lives. Your college days are slowly fading into the back ground.the real world may seem scarce but it is full of opportunities inviting you to seize them. Along with independence and financial freedom, comes the fear of swimming in uncharted waters. You may be having a lot of thing on your mind about the future ;a new way of life, different daily routine, new and more formal relationships, different dress codes, the necessity to perform,office-politics,colleagues,bosses,professional targets, performance etc. I am aware that you eagerly anticipate this new chapter of your chapter of your life and at the same time, may be, you are also a little nervous about what the future holds. I am sure that each one of you also has big dreams and aspirations from life. I am confident that all of you will boldly move towards your goals and will do your Alma mater and your country proud. I am reminded of what swami Vivekananda, a great visionary and a nation builder said, something that would be an apt message for you at this moment, he said Stand up, be bold, be strong. Take the whole responsibility on your own shoulders. And know that you are the creator of your own destiny. All the strength and successor you want is within yourself. Therefore, make your own future. In this special occasion, I wish to share my views, which I hope will prove to be useful to you in the time to come. Learning : Let me begin by talking about learning. During you stay in the institute, you have pursued your academic work with great dedication. By dint of your hard work and focus, you achieved your degrees and earned your rewards. You might feel that the days of learning are now over and it is time that you start enjoying the fruits of the hard labour you had put in, so far. The fact is that need for learning can never be over emphasized! Please remember that the habit of learning new things and acquiring new knowledge will enable you to be able to create value and add value to whatever you would be involved with. Therefore never shy away from learning even if that demands for an extra effort on your part. Remember, learning process never ends. Exploit knowledge for bringing improvements: The world is changing at such a fast pace that it is often said that one has to keep running to stay in the same place. Most of the things that take our time today did not even exist just twenty years ago. Mobile phones, , accounts, laptops, google, youtube, facebook, DVDs and twitter did not exist just two decades ago. This is not just as isolated technological advancement in one specific field. These changes have revolutionized almost every part of our lives e.g the way we work, learn, earn, collaborate, create values, share values etc. Can you imagine as to how the world would look like in 2033? I can t.the truth is, nobody can. We will have a very hard time even imagining what the world would look like five years from now. The only way to thrive in this brave new and fast changing world is not only to have the skills you are now equipped with the virtue of your qualifications, but also to have the aptitude to be continuously making improvements. By failing to prepare, you are prepare to fail 4

5 FAREWELL MESSAGE The skill of being able to learn.this is your unwritten job description. To learn. Be a sponge. Learn. Learn. Learn.and then. Learn some more. Learning could mean being on the top of your technical field of study.in terms of business. It could mean learning about the bigger picture. I have seen time and again, that those who shoe tremendous growth in short span of time are performer have hunger to learn and an ability to look at the bigger picture. Develop these two traits consciously. Write down what you learn every day. Understand the business from different perspectives. If you are not learning something new, you are just repeating what you did yesterday. Work experience is so called because it is just that experience. If your experience is the same, in the end you might end up asking yourself, do I have four year of experience or do I have one year of experience repeated four time? Thus develop the attitude of adding value to the jobs at hand and ensure that your contribution towards desired transformations becomes evident to one and all. This would be done better, once you start exploiting your knowledge and capabilities for improvising the existing situation. Good habits: Remember always, the importance of developing good habits in making life meaningful. The great boxer Mohammed Ali had once said it is not the mountain that defeat us; it s the pebble inside our shoe. not developing a good set of habits in your personal as well as professional life is allowing such pebbles to mar your journey. Habits that help you to maintain good health, remain disciplined, manage your time, include positive aura around itself, keep updated with the trends and developments and execute tasks in time bound as well as result oriented manner. Teamwork: To be a good and successful leader, one must understand and appreciate that an individual can never be bigger and more important can never be bigger and more important than the team. This means that you must aim to work as a team person, in order to lead the team. When you see a group picture in which you are present, whose photograph do you look at first?most of us would like at your own picture first.this is because most of human behavior is driven by ego. However, being a part of team means being a part of something bigger than ourselves. those who learn to become excellent team players end up being able to create success through collaborations.a good team is the one where team members complement each other and create synergy to achieve the given targets. All great feats in human civilization-from landing on the moon, to the human genome project and more recently the discovery of Higgs-Boson particle-have not been individual achievements they have been possible by the teams of talented people. Most of the time, we are so focused on our own experience and feeling that we tends to ignore what the team is trying to do. If you can sift the limelight from yourself to the task at hand, your contribution and value in the team would increase tremendously. This is a critical skill to have for a bright future. In closing I would like to remind you that you are among those counted fortunate persons who had access to educational experience at this renowned institution I am confident that you will cherish this experience and it will be an asset for you thought out your lie. I am confident that you will use the capabilities developed here for personal welfare and success. I also would like to remind you to strive for welfare of society.society is a living and breathing organism of which we are individual cells. If our actions ultimately do not benefit the organism of society, even the success and welfare of individual cells would be in jeopardy. Remember, in our land, noble values of caring, sharing, service and sacrifice distinguish us as one of the oldest and the greatest civilizations in the world. As you inherit this society, you also must strive to improve it and work for common good. I hope that in all that lies ahead of you, may the almighty grant you grace, wisdom, success and a true sense of fulfillment of dreams and goals of your life. To live to a hundred, surround yourself with youthful and smiling friends 5

In order to succeed, we must first believe that we can 6

7 FACULTY ARTICLES What is the role of a Teacher? Manish Kumar Mishra Asst. Prof. Communication Skills Schools are one of the first places where kid s behavior and future educational success is shaped. Teachers are carriers of either positive or negative behavior toward students. The reason why the first years of school are so critical is because kids learn the base of their educational life. I believe that teachers must love their career in order for them to pass enthusiasm, to assists, and to provide a warm environment to the students. In my opinion teachers are the second mothers for the students because students spend a lot of time with their teachers. At the same time. I believe a real teacher becomes through many years of training and experiences in the field. The same way, mothers are not born being great mothers but as their experiences with their kids expands they become experts on the field. We know that mothers look the best for their kids and one of their goals is to raise their kids so they can become professionals and pioneers for the society. Some of the mother s role toward kids is to give them care, love, respect, lead, instruct and to try to form a safe and pleasant environment at their homes. Are these attitudes of the mothers toward their kids related to what the role of the teacher should be with the students in the classroom? If not, what should be the role of the teachers then? I believe that a teacher is someone who becomes through many years of training and experiences in the field. I have not found a teacher who is an expert the first day of their profession. I believe that is urgent for everyone who is a teacher or is planning to become one to get prepare in the field the best they can. All teachers who get prepare will know how to set up rules in the classroom. Those kinds of teachers will probably have less problems in their classroom because they will be able to control the classroom. There are all types of teachers some are better than others. Through my life I had some professors who were well prepared and some who were not. I had some teachers who just came into the class and stared teaching. They did not get involve with the students. I rarely talked to them. Learning is not a spectator sport 7

8 FACULTY ARTICLES Those teachers did not show any concern about what the students were feeling. One way for a teacher to get students involve in the classroom is to ask them questions. I remembered there were some students at the class that were shy including me who did not have the chance to get involved in the class or to participate. Therefore, I believe the way students act depends on the teacher s attitude. That is why I strongly recommend all teachers to invite the student to participate in the class. It is very important that teachers encourage students because students will benefit from it. A teacher carries a big responsibility in her classroom. One reason is that all students depend on her/him. Everything the teacher sys will have an impact on the students. If the teacher feels joy of feels anger, it will be spread among children because the attitudes of the teacher gets contagious. If the teacher laughs, students also laugh, why? Because teachers are responsible for the social behavior in the classroom. If something goes wrong the only responsible is the teacher even if it was not their foul. The teacher must create a warm and protective environment but at the same time professional. If students feel secure in the classroom the result will be shown in the academic progress. A good star could be a mutual trust with each student. Teaches have the responsibility to know his/her students in the classroom. Each day, the teachers show one of their attitudes that the students are unaware. Also, the students do the same in order for the teacher to get to know them, too. This is a good exercise to do because it benefits the whole class to break the ice. The first days most of the students are afraid of the teacher because they do not know how is the teacher s personality. It will change until the point that the teacher and students discover to have common hobbies with each other. All teachers have the key to provide a good environment for the students. The benefits of having a pleasant environment are for the teacher and students. But before that happens a teacher needs to be well prepared in order that the students receive the best treat. It is essential and crucial for teachers to be prepared because the first years of school are very important for the students. The future education success of the students depends on their first years. It s never late to star a bound of a relationship between teacher and students. Consequently, the contact of the students with the teacher is an everyday act. Even though, there will be some days in which students will have impropriate but other days where there will not be a problem at all. As humans, sometimes teachers do things that are not correct however we always have another chance to do it better. In conclusion, I strongly believe that teachers need to show respect, caring, become role models, make a pleasant environment, treat students right, instructs them but not be totalitarian, and guides them through the road of success. The only who gets the benefits are the students and sometimes it could be a negative or positive. Throughout my life I have learned valuable lessons from great teachers but I also had negative impact in my life as well. Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow 8

9 FACULTY ARTICLES Mr. Ashfaq Siddiqui, HOD, M.B.A., IMEC 1. Role of Trainer: A Trainer in training situation, like tea leaves in tea decoction, leaves flavor - (knowledge and wisdom) and color (skills and attune wisdom and experience) - to be absorbed and assimilated and enjoyed by the surrounding and settles down. 2. Purpose of Training: The purpose of training is to enable people to perceive various situations as they are. Analyze them and then apply their knowledge and skills to improve their behavior in handling this situation to improve organizational effectiveness. 3. 11 STUDENT COLUMN FLAUNT RIGHT ATTITUDE By: E.C. 8 th Sem. Students Richa Shrivastava Rachna Soni Dear Friend, There can be no denying that everybody in this world has dreams and he/she wants to live his/her dreams. But there is all likelihood of a number of people lacking the will to bet on themselves being successful at living their dreams. Actually, this is a test of how much they believe in themselves. It is the level of our belief which either propels us forward or stops us thinking about just how great it could be.in fact, having a strong belief in yourself does not depend on what people think of you. It is your own opinion about yourself that matters. And your opinion about yourself depends on your frame of mind. Remember that there is no other individual exactly like you and you are unique. At the same time, remember that you have got the potential to do everything that anybody has done or can do. You have not discovered so far your hidden talents and they are waiting to be discovered. If you try to discover your talents sincerely, it will lead you to acquire knowledge. When it comes to acquiring knowledge, you have to be aware of the fact that knowledge never goes in vain, nevertheless the acquisition of knowledge with the particular aim is always of great use. KNOWLEDGE knows no bounds and nobody can be all-knowledgeable.wise people never get lost in the labyrinth of knowledge, because aimless knowledge leads nowhere. It is better to know nothing than to know everything by halves. Knowledge is the greatest power as it can do wonders. But, if you want to have the positive attitude outcome of your knowledge, you will have to keep the right attitude, and the right attitude is possible if you are sure of yourself. You should flaunt the attitude but only the right attitude which your knowledge enables you to have. It is not you but your knowledge that speaks.if you feel that your attitude is getting negative due to negative thoughts, be cautious and stop negative thoughts from entering your mind. Once you become successful in dispelling negative thoughts, your success becomes inevitable. One should always have strong belief in his/her ability.your lack of belief in your own ability to achieve great things in life may be the only thing stopping from the first step to achieving your goals in life. Always aim high, because with right training and right attitude anything, which you at first think is impossible, can be achieved. Develop the ability to flaunt the right attitude. With this, we hope that all the students reading this magazine march ahead with a right attitude towards everything. Action is the foundational key to all success 11

12 STUDENT COLUMN LAUGH WHOLE HEARTEDLY Keerti Shridhar & Reeta Peepar EC-3 rd SEM EC-3 rd SEM It is a widespread belief that laughter improves blood circulation to test this Notion doctors in America studied two groups of kids, who were not allowed to interact with each other. One group was entertained and regaled by a jester daily after lunch. No such arrangements were made for the other group. After a month of this exercise, the kids were examined, and it was found that the group that laughed everyday was healthier in comparison to the other. The group s academic performance also improved. However, these benefits are obtained, only when we laugh whole-heartedly. We laugh just for formality on many occasions, either to avoid offending our friends, or fit into the group. This kind of plastic smile is useless, as it look s fake anyway. But a smile can be sustained without much trouble. When you see your smiling face in the mirror, your heart swells with joy. Happy people can effortlessly ward off jealousy, anger and aggressiveness. Smile is the best way to mollify aggression. Sometime when there are conflicts between spouses, or friends get annoyed, then smile can be used in this distressed situation to smoothen feathers with great ease. All the malaise in the heart is washed away by the deluge of laughter. Psychologists believe that the rain gets a healthy and restorative signal through smile, and affects the nervous system. Another way of saying it would be that when the mind is pure and full of empathy and happiness, this mental wellbeing undoubtedly contributes to the physical health and increases life expectancy. To emphasize this fact, Elizabeth Safford writes, to live to a hundred, surround yourself with youthful and smiling friends. Failure is success if we learn from it 12
