3 Curriculum The 30-semester-credit MML program cosists of 9 busiess ad egieerig courses, icludig oe elective, plus a Capstoe project (). 4 Course Descriptios Orgaizatioal Behavior ad Leadership (MGMT-740) This course examies why people behave as they do i orgaizatios ad what maagers ca do to improve orgaizatioal performace by ifluecig people s behavior. Studets will be exposed to the ways i which orgaizatios ad their members affect oe aother ad to differet frameworks for diagosig ad dealig with problems i orgaizatioal settigs. Topics iclude motivatio, team buildig, coflict resolutio, leadership, orgaizatioal chage, ad maagig orgaizatioal cultures. Supply Chai Maagemet (ISEE-703) Supply chai maagemet is uique i that it is oe of the oldest busiess activities ad yet has bee recetly discovered as a potetially powerful source of competitive advatage. Supply chai system activities plaig productio levels, forecastig demad, maagig ivetory, warehousig, trasportatio, ad locatig facilities have bee performed sice the start of commercial activity. It is difficult to visualize ay product that could reach a customer without a cosciously desiged supply chai. Yet it is oly recetly that firms have started focusig o supply chai maagemet. The focus of this course is o the utilizatio of a diverse set of project maagemet methods ad tools. Topics iclude strategic project maagemet, project ad orgaizatioal learig, cost, schedule plaig ad cotrol, structurig of performace measures ad metrics, techical teams ad project maagemet, iformatio techology support of teams, risk maagemet, ad process cotrol. Course delivery cosists of lectures, speakers, case studies, ad experiece sharig, ad reiforces collaborative project-based learig ad cotiuous improvemet. Maufacturig Systems (ISEE-745) This course will provide a itroductio to cocepts ad techiques i the desig ad aalysis of productio systems. A bled of traditioal ad moder approaches is brought ito the classroom. At the ed of the term the studet will be able to assess ad aalyze the performace of a give maufacturig system as well as to provide a framework for system redesig ad improvemet. Cocepts such as lea maufacturig ad setup time reductio are icluded i the cotext of the course.

5 Lea Six Sigma Fudametals (ISEE-682) This course presets the philosophy ad methods that eable participats to develop quality strategies ad drive process improvemets. The fudametal elemets of Lea Six Sigma are covered alog with may problem solvig ad statistical tools that are valuable i drivig process improvemets i a broad rage of busiess eviromets ad idustries. Successful completio of this course is accompaied by yellow belt certificatio ad provides a solid foudatio for those who also wish to pursue a gree belt. (Gree belt certificatio requires completio of a approved project ad exam, both of which are beyod the scope of this course). Global Facilities Plaig (ISEE-723) Facilities plaig determies how a activity s tagible fixed assets best support achievig the activity s objective. This course will provide kowledge of the priciples ad practices of facility layout, material hadlig, storage ad warehousig, ad facility locatio for maufacturig ad support facilities. Tools for sizig the resources eeded, plaig, desig, evaluatio, selectio, ad implemetatio will be covered. The focus of the course will cover both maagemet ad desig aspects, with the focus beig more heavily o the maagemet aspects. Accoutig for Decisio Makers (ACCT-603) A graduate-level itroductio to the use of accoutig iformatio by decisio makers, the focus of the course is o two subject areas: (1) fiacial reportig ad the use of geeral-purpose fiacial statemets by iteral ad exteral decisio makers; ad (2) the developmet ad use of special-purpose fiacial iformatio iteded to assist maagers i plaig ad cotrollig a orgaizatio s activities. Geerally accepted accoutig priciples ad issues related to Iteratioal Fiacial Reportig Stadards are cosidered while studyig the first subject area ad ethical issues impactig accoutig are cosidered throughout. Egieerig of Systems I (ISEE-771) The egieerig of a system is a essetial aspect of its developmet that focuses o the overall cocept, performace requiremets, ad behavioral aspects of the system. This course treats the creatio of products, product platforms ad product families as systems that create value for both the customer ad the eterprise. Topics iclude value creatio ad strategy, product developmet processes, traslatig market requiremets to system requiremets, fuctioal aalysis, developmet of the system s architecture, developmet of platforms ad modules, cocept geeratio ad selectio, desig for X (maufacturig/ assembly/service/eviromet, etc.) ad life cycle costig. Studets will lear several systems aalysis techiques ad apply them i a team-based project.

6 MML Capstoe Project (ISEE-793) The purpose of the project is for studets to demostrate itegrative applicatio of kowledge ad skills that they have acquired durig the program. The Capstoe project will be orieted to the solutio of maufacturig, operatios, or supply chai maagemet problem or to techically related processes. Each project will defie a actual problem ad solve it, or select ad develop a eeded process. A suitable project will be multi-discipliary or multi-fuctioal i ature ad will have sigificat impact o oe or more competitive capabilities of the orgaizatio, e.g. quality, lead time, cost, flexibility, or service.
