60. Physics Subject for Vocational School (SMK) / Madrasah Aliyah Kejuruan (MAK) (Islamic Vocational School) Agriculture Field A. Background Natural Science (IPA) subject is related to the way to inquire the nature in systematic way so that natural science is not only about the mastery of a group of knowledge in forms of facts, concepts, or principles but it also discusses about a process of discovery. Natural science education is expected to be a vehicle for students to learn about themselves and their surroundings, as well as further development prospects in applying the knowledge in their daily lives. Its learning process focuses on providing direct experience for developing students competences so that they can explore and understand the nature in scientific way. Natural science education is directed to an inquiry and action, so that it helps students to have deeper understanding on surroundings. Physic is a branch of Natural Sciences for the development of advanced technology and concept of harmonious living with nature. The recent development in information and communication technology is triggered by findings on material physical field specifically 1
microelectronic instrument that can store huge information. Besides learning about natural phenomenon, physic also teaches human being to live in harmonious based on the nature s law. Natural resource and environment management as well as the reduction of natural disaster impact will not run optimally without good comprehension on physics. Physics subject is an adaptive subject attempting to provide students with basic knowledge on nature-related laws where the mastery of this subject becomes a foundation and requirement of skill for student to reach their expertise competence. Besides that, Physics prepares student to develop their expertise competence at higher education. The mastery of this subject will help student to analyse process related to system of instrument and devices to support their expertise competence. 2
B. Objective Physic subject is intended for students to have the following abilities. 1. Establish positive attitude toward Physics through recognizing order and beauty as well as obtaining faith to the greatness of the One and Only God 2. Develop scientific attitudes such as honesty, objective, openheartedness, tough, smart and cooperative 3. Develop experiences to formulate a problem, propose and test a hypotheses through an experiment, designing an experiment instrument, collecting, and interpreting data, as well as to present the result of experiment orally and in written 4. Develop ability to think analytically, inductively, deductively by using concept and principle of Physics in order to explain natural phenomenon and to solve problem both qualitatively and quantitatively 5. Comprehend concept and principle of physics as well as to improve students knowledge, skill and confidence as a requirement to attend higher education and to develop science and technology 3
6. Comprehend concept of Physics to directly support their expertise achievement 7. Apply concept of Physics to support application of their expertise in their daily life 8. Apply concept of Physics to develop their expertise at higher level. C. Scope Scope of Physics involves the following aspects: 1. Quantity and physical unit 2. Motion laws 3. Force and Energy 4. Impulse and momentum 5. Temperature and Heat 6. Basic concept of fluid 7. Concept of magnet, electromagnet, and electricity 4
D. Standard of Competence and Basic Competence Standard of Competence Basic Competence 1.
