Chotzakoglou Theatre historian Researcher Our lecture will focus on the course of steps of Evgenios Spatharis Shadow Theatre (Karaghiozis), from Folk (voice of a folk artist) to Art -spectacle (voice of an artistic group). In our previous (2013) relative presentation, we traced the steps ( ) of E. Spatharis from Stage to T.V. Screen, evaluating the contribution of Technology in the establishment of Shadow Theatre as spectacle for Children. Continuing our research, we shall present a sample of the contribution of Technology in Education, via «Educational Television» and T.V. performances of Spatharis, embodied in the educational field within In this frame, we shall examine the repertoire (Mythology, History, Fairy Tale, etch.), the partners (N. Pilavios, M. Koutsouri, D. Lekkas, G. Pavrianos, M. Koutalou, A. Staikos, etch.) and the stage inspirations of E. Spatharis but also the potentialities that Technology offered (e.g. «blue screen»), upgrading the spectacle in order to lure Children audience. UNESCO recognizes and indicates the potential of ICTs in early childhood education. But today rarely ICT are exploited in Preschool Centers. Given that the teacher himself plays a key role in the integration of ICT in the educational process, a detection of the educators perceptions working within the early education of preschool children before kindergarten on the use of ICT in Preschool Centers, is attempted. This research contributes to the examination of the educators perceptions, given that ICT will be exploited in early childhood education, while it provides information that can be considered useful for the educators training. 165 early childhood educators, working in Preschool Centers, participated in the research. As a research tool a questionnaire was used. The perceptions are associated with the level of studies and the computer skills. The data were subjected to descriptive and interpretative statistics, while indications were examined with the interpretative analysis. According to the results, early childhood educators perceptions are characterized by specific reserves associated with the impact that can have the use of computers, positions that are not supported by the data obtained from surveys. Furthermore, it is an important factor of improvement in the effectiveness and efficiency of services. This research presents an evaluation of training programs organized by the Greek Institute of Training. Specifically, it attempts to assess and evaluate the attitude of public officials about the impact of these programs in order to improve efficiency and quality of service. For this purpose we evaluated a total of 24 employees who attended such programs. The questionnaire and the structured interview were used as methodological tools. The investigation revealed a positive attitude regarding the role of training programs, as trainees believe that the Institute of Training meet the workers educational needs (personal, professional, career). There is also positive evaluation for the structure, the professionalism of trainers and the educational material which is distributed. However, results show that trainees fail to transfer the knowledge in the working environment because of the bureaucratic and the impersonal nature of public administration as well as the various daily problems which they face. Moreover, some problems were noted, which included the schedule of the program, the internships and the lack of clear goal setting. 3

4 The Problem of Relationship 'Women and Management in Education' Perceptions of Teachers of Primary Education: An Empirical Research in Primary Schools V. Brinia 1, M. Didaskalou 2 1 Dpt. of Management Science & Technology, Athens University of Economics and Business, Greece Tel: , vbrinia@aueb.gr 2 Hellenic Open University, Patra, Greece Despite the legal equality of the sexes, the mass exodus of women in the workplace, the large numerical presence in education and the high rates of women who seek their expertise through university studies, the area of educational administration continues to be inaccessible for women, even at the lower levels of the administrative hierarchy, such as managerial positions of municipal schools. By conducting quantitative research on men and women teachers working in primary schools of the prefecture of Imathia sought the root causes of the phenomenon by recording the views collected during the period March - April 2013, using a questionnaire. With this view, we investigated the way men and women in our sample, perceive and approach the effective leadership, trying to focus on similarities or differences between them, which are related to the model of effective leader as it emerges from bibliography and as it is required by the contemporary social, political, cultural and economic conditions. The subjects of our research, highlight as administrative barriers to development of women, the multiple family commitments, their love for teaching, the existence of 4

5 stereotypical views that attach specific roles to the sexes and attribute the phenomenon to abstinence for women. However, disagreements occurred between men and women with regard to the merit of the selection process for executives, the cost of the lack of trade union action and the barriers posed by the socialization of women by their traditional roles. The study showed no difference between female and male management style and projected the value of androgynous characteristics that an effective leader must have. Moreover, the economic benefit is the main motive for claiming administrative position. Keywords: educational administration, women's underrepresentation, causes 5

6 Reciprocal Teaching: An innovative programme for critical thinking development in History course A. Palaiothodorou (Ph. D., M. Ed.) According the current Curriculum, innovations associated with a new educational perception that enhances children s cooperation and communication should be suggested and implemented in every school class. The new aspect of innovative programs lays on cooperation between children where they are members of a group and attempt to manipulate cognitive material for better conception and process. According to Palincsar & Brown (1984) there is a method, known as Reciprocal Teaching, where children if are taught to follow a particular way of thinking and manipulate an unknown text, they have the tendency to increase their ability to recognize the main points of it, to find out the hidden or possibly difficult elements that make a text difficult to be understood and to make predictions about what is next as a faction of connecting the previous points and next ones. The last step of this method includes the subscription of a summary where children should take care and of course, involve the main points of each paragraph of this text. Taking into account the particular steps that should be followed for better text processing, we tried to apply it at F grade students of Primary School. Text material was chosen from History book of the particular class. Applying reciprocal teaching we came to the conclusion that it enhances children s ability to extract the main points of a text. Children, as it is also pointed out, learn to cooperate with an effective way so as to increase their skills for better and effective communication. 7 Public secondary school education in Thessaloniki, from 1912 to 1975, as presented in the newspaper Macedonia. A comparative approach Eleni Andreadelli, Musicologist, Msc, andreadellieleni@gmail.com Effimia Karamane, Teacher of Literature, Msc, efikara09@hotmail.com This paper includes the research that has been done aiming to investigate and compare the activities of public secondary schools in Thessaloniki, as occurred in the newspaper Macedonia, from 1912 to A thousand articles have been studied and divided into three sub-periods, considering the availability of the newspaper sheets, the articles proximity with the content of this research and finally, the general historical period division. The research method that has been used at the first place was the historical - interpretative, in which through repeated cycles of understanding and interpretation, the research material has been determined. This was followed by a content analysis through witch categories and subcategories have been formed. The investigation revealed that the public secondary school education in Thessaloniki and the activities of the local educational community were the subjects of continuing and comprehensive interest. In particular, the school life is related with the institutional changes, the new courses, curricula and teaching methods, the status of teachers and consist common categories throughout the period examined. Additionally, differentiations have been occurred in subcategories in association with political and historical events. The general conclusion is that the public secondary education for the period is a matter of continued presence and interest for the local society. 8 Τhe case study as method of educational research: exploitation for the management of indiscipline at school via the imposition of punishments Effimia Karamane, Teacher of Literature, M.Sc., Eleni Andreadelli, Musicologist, Music teacher, M.Sc., This paper presents the exploitation of case study as a research method, aming at the investigation of role of school punishments in the management of school indiscipline. The method was chosen, between the other, because it provides data that recognize the frame of circumstance can express the conflicts or the nonagreements participating and highlight the unique characteristics which it is possible they constitute the key for the comprehension of situation. In the frame of classroom, where they are impressed complex and extensive interactions of facts and human relations, is pursued the observance of disciplinary rules by students and is provided the imposition of penalties as means of dealing with the indiscipline. Thus defined research questions: a) how conceives the teacher the imposition of punishments, b) how conceives the student the imposition of punishments, c) how it impacts the punishment in facing with indiscipline. The case study concerns a class of 2 st grade of a public High School. The techniques of data collection it was the semi-structured interview, the non-participant observation and the study of archival material. At the conduct of research was observed protocol of actions, followed the collection and data recording, while the analysis proceeded in parallel with the survey in three stages. At the end of the paper we present the advantages and the disadvantages of method, the difficulties in her application, as well as the results of research.
