COURSE OVERVIEW: This curse aims at prviding students with multidisciplinary and career planning skills in a seminar envirnment with emphasis n career planning, resume writing, and interview skills. The gal is fr each student t build a marketing plan fr themselves they can use t secure a jb. They have t dcument themselves, market themselves, cmmunicate their value and pull f these elements tgether int a sell package that can be utilized with ptential emplyers. Assignments may include reading assignments, Web Frum discussins, Pwer Pint presentatins, etc. available in MOODLE. All material will be psted with assigned dates fr actins. Class attendance is als required. Class Interactin means raising r answering questins that cntribute t the understanding f tpics being discussed. Respnses are expected t be substantive and well thught ut. MOODLE: MOODLE will be used as the administrative and peratinal system fr the class. All students are expected t participate in its usage. In the cases the Hnr Cde vilatins are detected, the punishments range frm a minimum f failure in the curse plus disciplinary prbatin up t expulsin frm NJIT with ntatins n students' permanent recrd. Additinally, classrm interactin (asking questins, participating in classrm discussins, etc.) is strngly encuraged, particular fr this seminar class. Lateness: Late assignments will nt be accepted. Assignments are due at 11:55 PM n the due date, and there will be a 3 hur grace perid t allw fr cmputer and netwrk prblems. After that, the system will be lcked, and yu will n lnger be able t uplad yur assignment. If yu are late with yur submissin, but believe yu have an extenuating circumstance, the matter will be reviewed by the Dean f Students. GRADING POLICIES: The curse is Satisfactry / Unsatisfactry nly. 4

5 The grading is based n attendance, participatin (i.e. mck interview, etc.), and the cmpletin f the assignments. Yu will be rewarded 1 pint fr each time there is an pprtunity t be graded fr participatin r an assignment, and 3 pints fr attendance during a class sessin. At the end f the semester, a percentage equaling 70 r abve is required t get a satisfactry rating in the class. POLICIES: All cmmunicatins t the instructr shuld cme frm yur NJIT WebMail accunt.
