(Nelson Mandela) About our organization IKAROS Foundation Romania was founded in September 2015 as an intention to bring and continue in Romania the experience and tradition of IKAROS group from North Italy concerning work with the most vulnerable groups: children, youths, NEETs, adults facing unemployment, people with disabilities. IKAROS group nucleus dates back to Starting from this tradition and benefiting by the experience of the entire group, as well as the experience of over 10 years in the social field of its employees, IKAROS will concentrate its efforts on developing instruments and programs dedicated to: - Children (also for those coming from the social protection system) - Youths at risk of early school leaving and further impossibility to integrate in the labour market - People with disabilities - Unemployed people, focusing on developing integrated employment services and changing public policies The main actions that we will focus on are: Pillar 1 DEDICATED to children and youths at risk of school dropout and unemployment Pillar 2 DEDICATED TO PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES Pillar 3 - DEVELOPING integrated employment services for the unemployed, especially from rural areas. Contact: Diana Luca diana.luca@fundatiaikaros.org Project description Countries: Italy, Romania, Turkey, Hungary, Poland and Croatia Dates: August 2017 Location: Andree Pension, Sinaia town, Prahova County, Romania Working Language: English The aim of the SHARE CULTURE project is to gather 30 young people, age 18 to 25 years old and 6 group leaders coming from 6 different countries in a 9 days intercultural YE to promote INTERCULTURAL DIALOGUE, INTERCULTURAL AWARENESS and SOLIDARITY through nonformal activities dealing with food, culinary traditions and healthy nutrition. Bringing together these youth, helping them to learn and live together, share rooms and meals, will be an ideal and natural settings for intercultural learning to take place. The Partners involved in this project will be introduced into the culture and tradition of different European countries exploring cultures and traditions through food and traditional meals, to get to know better other EU countries traditions involved in the project and explore differences in behaviours, traditions, cultures and norms. SHARE CULTURE is based on a multi-cultural approach of the needs of young people, also with fewer possibilities, that will result in developing their intercultural awareness, intercultural learning, social autonomy, responsibility and soft professional skills and a more harmonious integration in their communities. Activities are developed to discover and share their resources and values and create a common social and cultural capital.
3 The 30 youngsters will carry out the activities while 6 group leaders will collaborate efficiently to make the mobility run smoothly. Unforgettable intercultural experience! This youth exchange aims to provide an unforgettable and rich intercultural experience where people from different countries and culture bring their touch and insights creating a synergy of learning and new friendships. Discover Romania! Participants will have opportunities to discover Sinaia and Romania during their stay. Participants will be given self-structured free time mainly in the afternoons to engage in activities of their choice. Optional excursions and trips will be organized making stay both as relaxing and fun as possible! Intercultural learning and dialogue are a priority within the Youth Department of the Council of Europe and the European Union Commission. The importance of providing means for intercultural dialogue and dialogue between citizens to strengthen respect for cult. Diversity and address complex realities of our societies, especially for youth, has been recognized as crucial for European Unions future; especially with violent and dramatic events that EU has been facing. Knowing oneself is important for self-confidence and development of social skills. The objectives of this youth exchange are in line with the Erasmus+ and with KA1 Learning Mobility of Individuals objectives: 1. To improve level of key competences and skills of young, including those with fewer opportunities. 2. Intercultural dialogue and cultural diversity. 3. Promoting solidarity between youngsters through increased learning mobility opportunities, those active in youth work, youth organizations and youth leaders. 4. Promoting non formal learning and improving key competences, personal and social skills of youngsters. 5. Increasing capacity for the participating organizations to cooperate with internal organizations in the field of youth. 6. Foster quality improvements in youth work through enhanced cooperation between organizations in the field of youth. 7. Foster recognition of non-formal learning. 8. Enhance the participant's foreign language competences. 9. Raise participants' awareness and understanding of other cultures and countries, offering them the opportunity to build networks of intern. The youth exchange will be based on non-formal education methodologies and will be centered on participants input and experience as the main source of mutual learning through group discussion, role plays, simulation exercises, case studies and interactive presentations. The project aims to demonstrate the
4 potential of Erasmus+ Programme as a tool for youth empowerment and raise awareness about Youthpass tool which can help young people learn, harness skills and grow personally and collectively. Arrival and Departure dates Sinaia Romania - August 20-30, 2017 Arrival: August 20, 2017 in Sinaia ( Andree Pension check in starts 12:00 pm) Departure: August 30, 2017 from Sinaia ( Andree Pension check out by 10:00 am) Note: The flight tickets with late arrivals or early leavers (e.g arrival August 19) cannot be accepted or reimbursed. In case of no flights on specified dates, please inform the organizers to make special arrangement. Early arrivals or late departures are at the responsibility of the participants (to pay for stay). Also, please bear in mind that according to the guidelines of Erasmus+ program the travel back must be realized by participants on direct way within maximum of 2 days. In case of longer stays or indirect travel (travel to another country after the training) there is no chance of reimbursement. Accommodation and food The Youth Exchange will be implemented in the frame of the Erasmus+ Programme: Accommodation and food will be covered 100% by the organizer. Participants will stay at Andree Pension in Sinaia in the heart of downtown where all major attractions are within walking distance. Participants will share rooms and will be provided with three meals per day & coffee break. Important notice on food: Please, keep in mind, that the provided food may differ from the food you are used to have in your country, and, even in case of providing food for special groups, e.g. (if you are heavily meat eater or vegetarian) it may not fully meet your expectations. We strongly recommend participants to inform the organizers IN ADVANCE about any special needs. The Address: Furnica street No. 57A, SINAIA town PRAHOVA County ROMANIA From the Otopeni (Bucharest) Airport: Follow airports inside directions to the bus station, in front of the airport building. Take BUS no 780 until Gara de Nord railway station in Bucharest. The name of the bus STOP you have to get off the bus is Gara de Nord. The bus comes every 30 minutes, it is the 8 th stop from the airport and it takes almost 50 minutes to reach. BUS ticket card which includes 2 trips costs almost 3 EUR. This is how Gara de Nord looks like, this is the BUS stop:
5 From Gara de Nord you must take TRAIN to Sinaia. Here is the train schedule available for now, as soon as the train company will update the schedule online, we will come back to you with the updated trip hours, of course, for 20 th August: One way TRAIN ticket to Sinaia costs around 10 EUR. A total of 20 EUR both tickets (to Sinaia and back). This is Sinaia train station:
6 From Sinaia train station, you can walk till the training location (around 30 min, relaxing walk): cross the street in front of the station and start climbing the stairs you will see as you cross to the other side. At the end of the stairs there is Carol I Boulevard, turn on your left and keep walking on Carol I Blvd until you reach the 2 nd big crossroads it is a roundabout between Carol I Blvd and Aosta Street. Cross the street and walk up to Aosta Street. Keep walking on Aosta Street, preferably on the right side of the road, because at some point there is another street coming on the right, please move to Varful cu Dor Street now and keep going up on this street, Varful cu Dor. Stay on the left side of the street and keep walking on Varful cu Dor Street until you gently take left again and you reached Furnica Street; keep walking on the left side of the road on Furnica Street until you reach no 57A which is Andree Pension, our training location. There will be a poster on the fence of the house to easily understand this is your YE location.

8 You can also take the bus from Sinaia train station. Cross the street and in front of the train station there is the bus station which is called Halta Sinaia. Take the PINK line (T2) or the BLUE line (T1) to reach our training location bus stop called Crucea Molomot :

10 INTERNET connection is foreseen at the training location. You need to bring TOWELS; and do not forget your SLIPPERS! It is safe to drink tap water, Sinaia is a place famous for its spring waters and so the locals use it every day. Travel and reimbursement Travel expenses will be reimbursed according to Erasmus + rules as follow: Hungary: 170 Croatia: 170 Poland: 170 Turkey: 170 Italy: 170 Romania: 0 Important! Please read carefully! Maximum reimbursement amount is the maximum amount a participant can be reimbursed. Anything above this amount will have to be covered by the participant. Of course, only cheapest transport routes/means will be reimbursed. To be reimbursed: Participants must provide original tickets (and boarding passes) as well as invoices. Travel cost will be reimbursed through bank transfer after the youth exchange as we gather/receive all tickets, boarding passes and invoices from participants! Visa: EU member state citizens do not need a visa to enter Romania. In case of need, you can apply for e-visa here If you had to buy VISA, or you needed to make costs in order to get your visa, please bring also these costs with you, and also take already copies of your visa! Visa for Romania is subsidized 100% (please keep all costs with you, and also make already a copy of your visa before coming to Romania). Please, check the validity of the passports before the departure! Participants profiles: 30 young people + 6 group leaders - Age between years old - Good English language skills. - Interest and commitment to attend the full duration of the training - Interested in topics such as food, culinary traditions, healthy nutrition and healthy living ***Registration of participants is final only upon purchase of flight tickets. Activities of the Youth exchange to be performed by the participants: - Name learning games (Grocery list) - Ice breakers (Snow ball, Name our group) - Energizers (Spider, Relay game, Back to back) - Team building activities (Solidarity game, the boat race etc.) - Problem solving activities (Finding your voice, Bean game)
11 - Intercultural games (Language labyrinth, Ear, Eye, Mouth, Nose) - Reflection groups (Rainbow, Raise your hand, Making pizza) - Intercultural evenings, Karaoke night - Group discussion on cultural diversity and communication (Intercultural evenings) - Artistic and creative workshops (Photography, Dracula theatre play, My person) - Culinary workshops (Zero waste workshop, Low budget culinary workshop, Cook book, Healthy food festival) - Workshops regarding Health and Food: (Healthy lifestyle campaign, Expo Romania-food festival, preparing home-made products workshop, Composting food workshop) -Sinaia sightseeing - Visit to local farm - Visit to the Romanian chocolate factory - Final event Healthy food festival (presenting Share culture activities, participant contributions, Erasmus+ program) Participants preparation: It is essential that as a participant you are able to commit to this mobility preparation and complete the exchange challenges. Preparation will include receipt researching, as well as spend some time to read articles and videos in regards to the Projects topics and the participating countries food culture. We also encourage the participants to try the different cuisines of the participating countries, before the YE, to already get familiar with the flavours of the specific gastronomy. Intercultural and cooking evenings: we ask the participants to prepare up to 3 minutes presentation or activity that would introduce the Group in the culture of that country. It can be serious, it can be fun - no strict rules there, just need to pick something that would give a little insight about that country. We invite the participants to be fully present during this Youth Exchange: engaging in activities, being on time for sessions and committing fully to learning, sharing and exploring the topics. Insurance All the participants MUST have European Health Insurance for participating in this project. It is the participant s responsibility to arrange their own health insurance. Currency in Romania The official currency is the Romanian LEU (RON). 1 EURO is about 4.6 RON.
