This curse prvides a grunding in scial psychlgy tpics such as scial cgnitin, attitudes, scial influence, individual mtivatins, cllective behavir, and cultural influences. Cntent and assignments are designed t illustrate hw the individual and scial interactin shape and are shaped by the cultures and scial structures in which they exist. Students will be intrduced t methdlgies that are used t investigate scial psychlgy phenmena, and the curse will aid students understanding f the applicatin f scial psychlgy research t real wrld prblems. Several carefully selected in-class exercises are included in rder t facilitate applicatin f thery t practice. As a special tpic f investigatin, particular attentin will be paid t the examinatin f sciecnmic class in Britain and its implicatins fr scial psychlgy issues in Britain. As part f the curse, students will be guided by the instructr in brief visits t certain neighbrhds within Lndn t prvide rich cntext fr discussins. In this way, the city f Lndn will serve as a vibrant labratry f learning. This curse is interactive and active participatin is required. The respnse paper shuld demnstrate that yu have given additinal, reflective thught t an issue. Yur vice shuld be heard in this paper. Institutinal and Systematic Discriminatin Prject* Cnsider the fllwing list f discussin starter examples f institutinal and systematic discriminatin, then identify yur wn example fr interrgatin. In a 3-page paper (Times New Rman 12 pint fnt, duble-spaced), describe the example, name the grups that may be discriminated against, describe the purpse f the plicy, and, if yu feel the purpse f the plicy is a valid ne, describe hw else the purpse f the plicy may be achieved withut discriminatin.

Answer the fllwing questins: What have yu learned abut sciecnmic class in Britain? Hw has yur evlving understanding f scial psychlgy helped yu understand the issues surrunding sciecnmic class in Britain? Hw was yur prir thinking challenged r affirmed? Where might future research in this area take yu? And, what srts f research methdlgies might help yu pursue such lines f inquiry, and why? The Final Paper is required t be 7-8 pages in length, Times New Rman 12 pint fnt, duble-spaced. Include five peer-reviewed jurnals in a reference list in supprt f yur discussin. Additinally, prepare a five-minute ral presentatin that summarizes yur Final Paper, fr delivery t the class during the last week f the curse. Visual aids are nt required but are allwed. 80% f yur grade fr the Final Paper will be cmprised f the written prtin, and 20% will be cmprised f the ral summary. EVALUATION METHODS The curse instructr will prvide specific requirements and grading rubrics fr individual assignments fr the curse.
