9 Recognition of Learning Outcomes Units has been identified as part national vocational qualifications and has by that been referenced to the same EQF level as the qualification. The concept of ECVET points needs further elaboration to be utilised in practice. The principles of delivering, assessing, and validating the learning outcomes are stated in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Mutual Trust The learning outcomes will not be carried out and assessed again on return The achieved learning outcomes will be documented by using the Europass Mobility.

10 Lessons learned Using ECVET Establishing a mutual platform & language Create an ECVET glossary in which the educational systems are described in terms of ECVET Creating mutual trust & Memorandum of Understanding Visit each other to see the facilities & equipment Creating Units & Learning Outcomes Really important to involve VET teachers from start in the process Learning outcomes should be measurable & detailed Using a Learning Agreement Young VET students must be able to understand content & aim of the LA Assessing international students A real challenge! Try to find assessment criteria that are common for the job profile of the educational pathway. Still needs to be further elaborated!

16 ECVET works & adds value ECVET-ising national qualifications/units - facilitates the implementation of high quality work placement, advisory board participation & cooperation between VET & the world of work in national qualifications The shift to LO increases the student s engagement in & control of his/her learning process The EURIAC concept being based on ECVET opens up for international learning opportunities in adult/higher VET International cooperation using ECVET provides bench marking & quality assurance opportunites of national VET Practical experience using ECVET provides best practice & acknowledgement, invitation to new networks & new possibilities for international cooperation ECVET indeed provides a common language & plattform for cooperation!

19 Experiences - geographical mobility It was tough work at times but participating in the EURIAC project has provided me insights, new experiences, and increased professional competence that I would not have gained any other way. I now understand what is great about Swedish vocational training, but also what we need to change to improve it. Learning how to handle the ECVET tools has also improved my understanding of the Swedish and other European educational systems and I think we have a lot to gain if we would 'ECVETise' Swedish vocational training. Swedish vocational teacher When somebody now asks me what ECVET is, I explain it is like EURO for education. I don t have to change money when I go abroad. I have the right currency. Finnish vocational teacher Normally I give my students specified tasks. With the EURIAC group I decided to give them only my wishes and I asked for their suggestions in four hours. Within three hours they had figured out most problems with a reasonable solution. Me and my colleagues are now convinced you don t have to give it all to the students! Dutch vocational teacher It was two weeks of very hard work, but it has been really amazing. It was my first time in this kind of project. To see the interest and the enthusiasm of the students, feeling them wanting to learn and work was a stimulus for me to continue working with them. They helped me a lot! Spanish vocational teacher "For the first time I understood precisely what my qualification was about and what I would be able to do, understand and know when returning home from the Netherlands. The funny thing was that I understood the description of this learning opportunity better in English, than I have ever done trying to interpret the learning content of the national courses in automation in Swedish." - Swedish EURIAC student
