1 ENG225: 20 TH CENTURY AMERICAN AUTHORS SYLLABUS LECTURE HOURS/CREDITS: 3/3 CATALOG DESCRIPTION Prerequisite: ENG101 English Composition I Literary works related to basic problems of the twentieth century (political, social, religious, philosophical, or personal) are studied. Recognize and apply the principles of effective communication when writing: a. Develop and organize around one central idea b. Support central idea and related ideas with detail and evidence c. Create an easy to follow organization d. Use precise word choice and correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling 2. Identify and use literary terms: a.
