PLACE: the youth exchange will take place in Villa Bruno, Via Cavalli di Bronzo, 22 - San Giorgio a Cremano (NA) ITALY. San Giorgio a Cremano (NA), under the Vesuvio volcano, belongs to the department of Naples and is 8 kilometres far from the centre of the big city. It rises close to the sea level. San Giorgio a Cremano has a population of inhabitants about. PARTNERSHIP: 4 EU organisations (Italy - France Romania Spain) LUNARIA INFORMA GIOVANI SAN GIORGIO A CREMANO CONCORDIA UNIVERSITUR ASSOCIATION DE AMICITIA Italy Italy France Romania Spain PARTICIPANTS: 5+1 for every organization AGE: (the group leader can be older than 25, up to 30) TARGET GROUP: youngsters interested in theatre, active citizenship, peace and intergenerational learning. Participants have to be very motivated, interested in the youth exchange topics and they have to be ready for 10 very intensive and stimulating working days. THEMES: Art, theatre and Intergenerational learning; Active Citizenship and pacifism;
2 AIM OF THE PROJECT: The aim of the project is to investigate the different forms of peaceful resistances in Europe, in order to create a roadmap of the many ways youngsters have to intend the active citizenship. In this process it s fundamental to reflect on the real meaning of participation and civic activism in the involved countries and to share good practices in this field. We believe that, as intermediate step before to develop a new awareness toward the society dynamics, it s necessary to increase the dialogue with senior people and for this reason the project goal is also to facilitate the intergenerational learning and the exchange of good practices among youngsters and elderly and vice versa. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: To share the different meanings and definitions of active participation : ICL and participation sharing ideas, knowledge and experiences; To present the different activities the participants run in their daily life to actively involve other young people and youth with fewer opportunities; To present and reflect on the experiences of national resistances peaceful and not - in the different countries; To deepen the different forms of non-violent communication: one specific session will be dedicated to the conflict management, in particular through the use of theatre and of artistic tools; To recover and give value to the oral tradition since it is a way to preserve our past and to better understand the dynamics of our present; To stimulate the dialogue between youth and elderly, in order to implement, reciprocally, the exchange of knowledge from senior to youngster and vice versa; To use theatre (in this case social theatre) to get new competences and to use them to create and develop new forms of peaceful resistance able to liven up the every day life in the local communities; To develop a new model of active participation bases on pacifism, participation, creativity and on the involvement of the local communities; PRIORITY: Social Inclusion and Intergenerational solidarity: as above explained, the project s aim is to investigate the different forms of peaceful resistances in Europe, to create a roadmap of the multiple ways to intend the active citizenship. This roadmap has to be considered the starting point in the work and it will be afterwards used to define concrete ways to intervene in the different local backgrounds. In this process is fundamental to recover and to appreciate the role of elderly in the transmission of the life experiences, knowledge and values. In the meantime also youth should offer their knowledge and competences to elderly in order to stimulate their active participation in the every day life of the community. The mile stone of the active citizenship is the dialogue between the different generations and the creation of a shared and deep-rooted action plan able to transform the living places, in better places. Though the empowerment of the intergenerational dialogue it s possible to create new forms of solidarity and participation and in this perspective, theatre is the most suitable channel to make the different targets interacting, sharing experiences, ideas and proposals. SUBJECTS OF THE EXCHANGE: The nowadays society can be often defined individualistic and this imply that we risk to lose some of the collective "values" that, during the historical Resistances, pushed people to take position against totalitarian regimes and any forms of abuse. We believe that the positive inputs that moved the people who have believed in these values are the ground in the construction of the actual European democracies. This trend to individualism, even if with different shapes and displays, has widespread and deeprooted roots in the contemporary society. The relations between individuals are often based on the
3 speed of the Social Networks and of the new media. This fact implied both a faster exchange of information and knowledge and by the other side the break up, or at least an alteration, in the relationships among human beings that seem to be less based on the direct contact. In the meantime the spread of the ICT and a more conscious use of the social networks lead to the born of new forms of resistances. An example can be done by the 15-M movement, started on May 2011 in Spain: a consistent amount of citizens, moved by the social and economical problems, launched a wide, peaceful and deep-rooted mobilization to sensitise the government and the local communities. This prove that a more conscious use of the communicative tools, based on ICT like also on creativity and non verbal communication, can really facilitate the creation of new path based on active citizenship and on the collective involvement. We firmly believe that one of the best way to learn from all these experiences and use them as a starting point in the creation of this path is the direct contact with who directly took part in. For this reason, as first step of the exchange, the young participants will meet the people from "Circolo ANPI", the Italian national organization founded by ex-partisan active during the Second World War in Italy and that continues to be a leading player in the promotion of those values in Italian society. After the meeting, participants will be invited to share their opinions, sensations and they will present the experiences of resistance in their own countries. One specific focus will be afterwards dedicated to the single peaceful experiences of r-esistances that took and are taking place in each background, in order to create a roadmap of the different ways youngsters have to define active citizenship and participation. The roadmap created will be then used in the second part of the project, during the social theatre workshop, to make participants able to give an artistic shape to the theme of active citizenship and resistance. At the end of the project a final performance will be realized and the local youngsters and inhabitants will take part in the event. As follow up we expect the young participants will use theatre and the different working methods gained to share the project results within the youth of their local communities and to involve them in the creation of new forms of participation. METHODOLOGIES: for the entire duration of the exchange it will be used the interactive methodology promoted by the non formal education, which aims at exchanging experiences and knowledge in an horizontal approach, bringing out and promoting the differences. During the project the work and the exchange of technical knowledge will be encouraged and gained following a peer to peer approach: participants will have the opportunity to share life experiences and tools in an horizontal manner. This approach aims at guaranteeing the shared approach to the different contents and at empowering the participants learning process. The social theatre will stimulate and develop the individual expressive capabilities and it is the privileged tool to make participants presenting their personal and collective way to intend the active citizenship and resistance. This expressive tool can be afterwards used by young people on their way back home to create new forms of artistic participation able to involve other young people. ADVANCE PLANNING VISIT: The APV will take place on 15 th 17 th of March 2013, within the end of February the short agenda of the meeting and the infosheet will be sent to the sending organizations and the group leaders. NOTE: in case for the arrival day you will not find a suitable flight connection (to Rome or Naples) to be in San Giorgio a Cremano within lunch time, there is the possibility to be hosted also in the evening of 14th of March. In case you won t find, for the departure day, a suitable flight connection to leave (from Rome or Naples) in the late afternoon, there is the possibility to be hosted also in the evening of 17th of March. In both the cases we kindly ask you to advice us in advance via and to wait for our confirmation before to purchase the flight ticket.
4 FINANCIAL CONDITIONS: for the APV: 100% food and lodgement covered by the project 100% travel costs anticipated by participants and then refunded for the youth exchange: 100% food and lodgement covered by the project 70% travel costs anticipated by participants and then refunded for the sending organization: 480,00 preparation cost for each promoter NOTE: we will refund all the partners at the end of the project, as soon as we receive all the tickets and air boarding passes A/R in original and as soon as we receive the second instalment from the Agency. Normally the refund process can take, approximately, 4 6 months. The tickets for the APV and the youth exchange cannot be bought before the 1 st of March 2013 that is the official starting date of the project: all the expenses done before this date are not eligible and cannot be refunded. Please before booking write us an and wait for our confirmation. TO DO LIST: We kindly ask to the sending partners to follow the steps listed below: 1. to identify the leader who will take part in the APV and to send back his/her application form within the 30 th of January 2013; 2. to send back the application form of the other youth that will participate in the youth exchange: the deadline is 30 th of January 2013; 3. after you will receive our confirmation both the group leader and the group can immediately start to search for the most suitable solution for their travel; 4. after having purchased the ticket, the leader and participants has to send us the e-ticket. Please send the application forms (for the APV and the youth exchange) and the e-tickets to the address: alberino@lunaria.org and mandozzi@lunaria.org NOTE: the price below includes the tickets return (flight + train + bus) second class travels. The taxi cannot be refunded and the amount specified in the travel cost for every country is the 100% and it will be refunded of the at the 70% for the youth exchange. The group leaders travel cost for the APV are covered at the 100%. 5 CENTRO INFORMAGIOVANI DI SAN GIORGIO A CREMANO: is the youth centre of the Municipality of San Giorgio a Cremano (Napoli). It is an information and orientation centre for youngsters and it offers information ordered by areas of interest: work searching, training courses, vacation offers, participation in European mobility programs and volunteer programs, sport practice. In this youth centre the youngsters are welcomed by trained and competent professionals that are at disposal to assist them in searching and selecting information and to give them useful information for their choices. The Youth Centre of San Giorgio a Cremano involves young people through promotion, coordination, delivery of services and projects ranging from information to new media languages, volunteering to opportunities for active participation in city life, the realization of creative proposals for mobility in Europe. Since 2006 the Centro Informagiovani of San Giorgio a Cremano started a working program with local youth about education for a culture of peace in cooperation with YAP (YOUTH ACTION FOR PEACE) Italy.
