Educational Pegasys Publishing CFE MATHEMATICS 2012/2013 ** new this year. dedicated CFE National 5 - Worksheet Packs N5 Pack 1 for Unit: Expressions & Formulae (EF) N5 Pack 2 for Unit: Relationships (REL) N5 Pack 3 for Unit: Applications (APP) The packs described below have been developed in line with the " SQA Course Guidelines for National 5" of Curriculum for Excellence and are aimed at young people working at this level. Please note. most of the material in these packs has been taken from our previously published resources for Intermediate 2 and Standard Grade Credit and have been re-organised, adapted and collated to fit exactly into the new "National 5 Guidelines". These packs cover all the topics within the three units of the new National 5 for Mathematics Each pack contains exercises giving extensive practice in the basics for each topic area, and, where appropriate, problem solving and examination type questions. Answers are provided for every exercise. Detailed contents for each pack can be seen within the next few pages. Each pack represents a huge resource and is designed to last the time allocated to that unit within the new arrangements. N5 Pack 1 for Unit: Expressions & Formulae (EF) N5 Pack 2 for Unit: Relationships (REL) N5 Pack 3 for Unit: Applications (APP) (Tick box CE3 on our main order form) (Tick box CE4 on our main order form) (Tick box CE5 on our main order form) Other future planned CFE materials from Pegasys.. * We are in the process of producing homework packs to accompany the National 5 Unit packs described above. * We are currently at the planning stage for a similar set of packs (worksheets & homework) for National 4. * We will of course be supplying unit assessments, practice examinations and prelim examinations for CFE National 4 & National 5 for session 2013/2014 as well as course and assessment materials at Levels 2, 3 & 4 once further clarification has been received.

6 These materials can be ordered by ticking boxes CE1 & CE2 on the order form at the end of this flyer. Thank you. Educational Pegasys Publishing CFE MATHEMATICS 2012/2013 New this year dedicated CFE Level 3 Homework and Assessment Packs The packs described below have been developed in line with the "Experiences and Outcomes" of Curriculum for Excellence and are aimed at young people working at Level 3. Suitable real life contexts have been used wherever possible in keeping with the ideals of Curriculum for Excellence. Both packs are differentiated across three sub levels to accommodate young people with varying Mathematical abilities. Sub levels and content are detailed below. CFE Level 3 Homework Pack This pack consists of approximately 33 exercises (1 exercise at each of the three sub levels for each topic of the Level 3 course) amounting to around pages of work in total. There will be separate homeworks for each topic with the exception of "short" topics which are incorporated into other exercises. For example, Rounding is included in Number Processes. The exercises in this pack are differentiated over three sub levels and all follow the topics listed overleaf.. Pack contains. 11 homework exercises at the Groundwork Sub Level 11 homework exercises at the Core Sub Level 11 homework exercises at the Extension Sub Level Sub Level descriptions Groundwork - The content of this is mainly pre Level 3. It is aimed at students who may struggle with the core content of Level 3, but who would be covering the same topics as those on the core Level 3 course. These sub levels also apply to the Assessment Pack! This homework pack comes complete with answers. Core - As its name suggests, this covers the core content of Level 3 with the exception of the most demanding outcomes and experiences. Extension - Aimed at stretching the more able students with more demanding applications of level 3 content (and very occasional level 4 content). There is an emphasis on problem solving. (Tick box CE1 on main order form) This pack consists of 24 separate assessments. CFE Level 3 Assessment Pack There are 8 assessments at each of the three sub levels consisting of 4 practice (or pre) assessments + 4 main assessments. Each assessment contains grouped topics as shown overleaf. The assessments in this pack are differentiated over the same three sub levels as the homework pack. 4 pre-assessments + 4 assessments at the Groundwork Sub Level 4 pre-assessments + 4 assessments at the Core Sub Level 4 pre-assessments + 4 assessments at the Extension Sub Level All assessments come complete with full marking instructions and marking schemes. (Tick box CE2 on main order form) Details of the topics covered in homework exercises and the different grouped assessments are given overleaf together with the "Experiences and Outcomes" assessed. P.T.O. /
7 Most of the topics have three homework exercises linked to them (one at each sub level). Each table constitutes an assessment grouping and has 6 assessments linked to it (1 practice + 1 assessment at each sub level).
