2 HRD & Training Key Success Factors of the Cooperative Business Model Sustainable Human Resource Development (HRD) and Training are key for any successful enterprise. Therefore, it is also crucial for the development of sound institutions and economies. The 3rd International Cooperative Dialogue will link knowledge of experts and the experience of the participants in this matter to foster strategic HRD in cooperative organisations. Based on the successful model of the last two ICDs, we offer once again a practice-oriented platform with a limited number of participants to share and discuss international experiences and challenges of Human Resource Development and Training measures based on the cooperative business model. Organising Institutions The DGRV German Cooperative and Raiffeisen Confederation is according to the German Cooperative Act (GenG) the confederation and auditing federation of the cooperative group. For more than 30 years, DGRV has supported the development of cooperativelyorganized systems worldwide, in the financial as well as in the real sector. In close cooperation with ADG, the DGRV coordinates the curricula and HRD activities for cooperatives in all sectors and is responsible for the training of cooperative auditors organized by ADG as well as examination of auditors. Founded in 1970, the Academy of German Cooperatives ADG is the prime provider of Human Resource Development (HRD) and consultancy services to German cooperatives. Beyond that, ADG is one of the leading independent bank training and management academies focusing on the national and international supply of market-driven advanced training, skill enhancement and further education primarily to management and specialists employed in the cooperative financial and real sector. The announced conference is organized in cooperation with GIZ GmbH the German International Cooperation. GIZ was formed on 1st January It brings together the long-standing expertise of Deutscher Entwicklungsdienst (DED) ggmbh (German Development Service), Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) GmbH (German Technical Cooperation) and Inwent Capacity Building International, Germany. Exchange experience on HRD & Training The International Cooperative Dialogue will link the knowledge of experts and the experience of the participants through presentations and workshops on the key success factors of sustainable HRD in cooperative organisations and tailor-made training. At the ICD, participants will have the chance to: Exchange experiences on an international level and learn from cooperative best practice cases Identify challenges and key success factors of sustainable HRD systems and qualification in cooperative organizations Get to know tools and instruments for successful implementation of strategic HRD Interact with counterparts of other countries and establish beneficial international networks Become familiar with the system of HRD and Training of the German Cooperative Sector The target group comprises general managers, project managers, bankers, experts, specialists and consultants engaged in the planning, organisation, implementation, supervision and evaluation of HRD and training issues, coming from: Cooperative Organizations Cooperative Training Centres Cooperative Financial Institutions/Banks (at primary, ó ó secondary and central level) (Con)Federations of Cooperatives and Corporations Governmental Organizations Central Banks and Apex Organizations National and International Development Organizations, Donor Organizations Development Banks Training Centres Other Institutions working in the field of Microfinance and/or SME Development Our past conferences have shown that participants benefit from a high level of interaction and participation. We are aware that valuable experience is located behind AND in front of the speaker s desk. Hence, we would especially like to invite you to participate in our Vernissage and Matchmaking events. Our Vernissage event will give some selected participants the opportunity and room to present their case followed by a discussion with other participants during one afternoon. Throughout and beyond this session, participants can share their special experiences and challenges. This may also give you the opportunity to 2 3

3 highlight topics of concern that are not dealt with in the conference programme and exchange ideas with other participants. In order to prepare this event, cases must be handed in before the conference. The Matchmaking event will give all participants the opportunity to discuss special topics of interest with each other in detail. In order to facilitate the process, a matchmaking catalogue will be established ahead of the conference. Here participants can introduce themselves and their organizations as well as state their special areas of interest ( I offer/ I search ). Before and during the conference the organizers will personally take care that the participants will get to know their matches and have enough space and time to discuss their issues in detail.
