1 Technology Uses in the Classroom Jan 6 th Explore creative and innovative ways to use technology in the regular instructional delivery process. This will include cross- curricular planning, student interactive applications, and the iwork and ILife software. ILife Apple Creativity apps is a suite of software applications for Mac OS X and ios developed by Apple Inc. for organizing, editing, and publishing photos, movies, and music. The suite includes three applications: iphoto, imovie, and GarageBand. IWork for- icloud/ Pages, Numbers, and Keynote are the best way to be productive on a Mac or ios device. Now we ve brought that productivity to the web on Mac and PC. The apps make it incredibly easy to work together with people everywhere. And since it s all powered by icloud, your documents are always up to date on each of your devices. XtraMath Site where teachers can create a class room for students to get extra math practice. Also, a site where students can log in at home to practice and improve their math skills using flyers produced by teachers.

2 ClassDojo ClassDojo is a classroom tool that helps teachers improve behavior in their classrooms quickly and easily. It also captures and generates data on behavior that teachers can share with parents and administrators. Itunes and Android Apps Discoveryeducation Discovery Education transforms classrooms, empowers teachers and captivates students by leading the way in providing high quality, dynamic, digital content to school districts large and small, rural and suburban and everything in between. Edmodo Edmodo is designed to get students excited about learning in a familiar environment. On Edmodo, teachers can continue classroom discussions online, give polls to check for student understanding, and award badges to individual students based on performance or behavior. Powtoons Is an online animated presentation software that allows anyone to create amazing animated presentations. Keep students engaged and let them create their own works in a fun interesting way.

They can read books and view presentations. See a list of all the assignments for the course and check them off as they re completed. And when you send a message or create a new assignment, students receive a push notification with the new information. Kurzweil Education Offers many great resources for struggling students and parents who need some help. Including a text to voice reader for struggling readers. Tramline The virtual field trips here at Tramline were developed with the goal of making the best use of the web in the classroom. These annotated trips take students to some of the best web sites on each trip subject.

4 QR codes in the classroom A QR Code (it stands for "Quick Response") is a mobile phone readable barcode that's been big in Japan forever, broke into Europe a while back, and is now getting traction in USA. In its simplest sense think "print based hypertext link" - simply encode a URL into the QR Code and then point a mobile phone (or other camera- enabled mobile) at it. If the device has had QR Code decoding software installed on it, it will fire up its browser and go straight to that URL. 5 GradeCam GradeCam has an intuitive, easy- to- use interface that allows for educators to: print answer keys, give immediate feedback, and transfer grades to electronic grade books. Lots of great ideas and applications for teachers to use for expanding Internet and computer use these in their rooms. Droptask is a task management service that has a neat user interface. To create a task in DropTask you drag a "task bubble" onto a blank canvas where you. Each task bubble can be dragged and dropped into a task group bubble. Each of your tasks can have a due date assigned to, files attached to it, and be given a priority status. DropTask can be used individually or with a group. Group members can sign into DropTask to check on the status of a task and to assign new tasks to the group. Fetchnotes is a neat service for creating and keeping notes online. Fetchnotes uses an interface for creating and sharing notes that will feel familiar to Twitter users. When you write a note, just use a hashtag to label your note. Then whenever you want to search for a note just enter a hashtag. When you want to share a note with someone in your contacts you can do so by

6 just putting before the person's name. Fetchnotes works on the web and offers Android and ios apps. EMBED PLUS If you've ever shown a YouTube video in your classroom and wanted to show just a portion of it for students to discuss, you know the inconvenience of trying to skip to the right starting point. Embed Plus addresses that problem and others. Embed Plus allows you to start a video at any point you specify. You can also use Embed Plus to skip scenes in a video, play it in slow motion, zoom into an area of a video, and annotate a video. Dropbox Dropbox allows users to create a special folder on each of their computers, which Dropbox then synchronizes so that it appears to be the same folder (with the same contents) regardless of which computer is used to view it. Files placed in this folder also are accessible through a website and mobile phone applications.
