1 Interested & Youth Session 1: 9:00-9:50am 101 NEW! (Y/V) Goal Setting and Time Management: (2 Sessions Long) This course is a requirement for the Venturing Discovery Award. However, it can be taken by Venturers at any time regardless of whether they are working on the award. The only way any group can achieve success is to know what success looks like. Knowing your group vision is not enough! In this course we will be learning how to break your vision down into bite size pieces. In this course we will explore the increase awareness of time management strategies, how to implement self-selected strategies, predict external time wasters, examine how time is spent, how to model how to set priorities, organize tasks by category, assess the importance of using a planning tool, perform work in a timely manner and how to schedule time appropriately. Make sure to bring your Venturing Handbook on this adventure in goal setting and time management. 102 UPDATED! (BS) Scoutmaster & Assistant Scoutmaster Specific Training: (4 Sessions Long) This is the NEWEST Specifics Training! This required basic training will help you get started on becoming a great Boy Scout Leader. You will learn the skills needed to organize and run a great troop. It is recommended that you take This is Scouting on-line before attending this course. 103 (Youth/CS/BS/V) (At Least 1st Class)- Den Chief Training: (3 Sessions Long) This training is for both den chiefs and for adult leaders. The role of the den chief in the cub program will be explained. This is a great learning experience for both youth and adults. This includes hand s on training, too. Also, time will be spent discussing the transition of scouts from Webelos to Boy Scouts. 104 (BS/V/OA) Chain Saw Training: (2 Sessions Long) Become certified to run a chain saw on Scout Property by learning the requirements and proper techniques. Participants should have experience with using a chain saw. MUST be 21 years of age or above. 105 (BS/OA/GEN/Y) Introduction to the Order of the Arrow: Recommended for newer members, this class will tell you more about the OA. You will learn many of the things you can do within the OA to help it and yourself grow. 106 UPDATED (BS) Troop Committee Challenge: (3 Sessions Long) This fun and interactive training serves as a vital tool for new troop committee members as well as veterans. The mission is to help each troop committee work together as a team to improve the Scouting experience for youth and adult members. 107 (BS) Using the PLC (Patrol Leader's Council) to Your Advantage: Discover how to make your youth leaders more effective in your Troop, while keeping your sanity.

2 Interested & Youth 108 (YOUTH/BS) Chaplain's Aid Training are welcome, The position of Chaplain Aide is A leadership position for Youth. Training as a Chaplain Aide will help other Scouts to participate in "Duty to God" (Scout Oath) as well as the 12th point of the Scout Law. 109 (GEN) Religious Emblem Coordinator: This training is for District and Unit coordinators for the promotion of Youth and Adult Religious Emblems. The encouragement of earning thse Emblems can increase advancement & membership in your Unit. 110 UPDATED! (CS/BS) Webelos to Boy Scout Transition: This course is for parents, Cub Masters, Scout Masters, Committee members, as well as for Webelos Den Leaders. Emphasis will be on the following topics: finishing the Webelos Rank, Goal of Arrow of Light, Visiting and Camping with Troops, Picking a Troop, and What to Expect with Boy Scouts. Session 2: 10:00-10:50am 201 (GEN) BB Gun & Archery Range Certification Training: (4 Sessions Long-Break for Lunch) Min Age to be certified is 21. Become certified to run a BB Gun or Archery range for District Cub Scout events or a Troop activity. 202 (BS/OA) Pre Ordeal & Ordeal Ceremonies: This class will give you a better understanding and hands on experience with both the pre Ordeal & Ordeal Ceremonies. This is recommended for newer OA members or members interested in joining the Ceremonies Team. 203 (BS) Using the Patrol Method: New insight on an old idea. Have your coffee and drink it, too! 204 (CS/BS/V) STEM: Science by stealth, STEM/Nova programming in the BSA : Are you a Rocket Scientist or Physicist? Don t worry, you don t need to be to help the BSA create the next generation of dynamic, outside the box thinkers who could possibly change our world. Youth in the United States currently do not rank in the top 20 worldwide when it comes to the STEM fields. This session explores how we can spark an interest in Science by offering fun, educational, hands on STEM programming that will help youth learn about STEM in their everyday lives as well as supplement formal education. 205 (GEN) What is it? A Unit Commissioner: This class will explain the role of the Unit Commissioner, and how they can assist good units to become better units. 206 (Youth/BS) The Boy-Run Troop: This course will show you the ideals of a boy led troop. You will learn how some of the youth leadership positions help the boy led troop process. You will identify the pitfalls of the adult activity in the boy led troop. You will learn how to transition to a boy led troop. Session 3: 11:00-11: NEW! (Youth) LNT Principles-Leave No Trace means traveling and camping with care, deliberately planning, and guiding one's actions so as not to harm the environment or disturb others. In this session, youth will learn how to apply Leave No Trace and Outdoor Code to camping activities with fun games and activities.

3 Interested & Youth 302 (OA ONLY) OA Beaded Choker and/or moccasins: This course teaches OA members how to make a choker and/or moccasins that they will complete during this class period. You will be contacted to order correct moccasin size. There is an additional Fee for each of the items. $ 7 Choker $ 13 Moccasins $ 20 for Both 303 NEW! (Gen) Hammock Camping This class will introduce you to the wonderful world of sleeping in the air. It will also include information on the use of Hammocks in Scouting. 304 (BS/V) Map and Compass/Lost/Navigation2: Map and compass, Measuring, How to build a cooking fire? Wildlife Signs, First Aid Kit. 305 NEW! (Y/V) Project Management: (2 Sessions Long)This course is a requirement for the Venturing Pathfinder Award. However, it can be taken by Venturers at any time regardless of whether they are working on the award. If you are planning a crew meeting, an open house, or a Tier I or Tier II adventure, a clear plan will go a long way. Effective planning will keep your Crew on track to their goals! In this course we will explore effective planning resources, how to establish and act on a clear goals. How to communicate success, build a stronger crew, how build stronger individuals, and preparing to have fun! Make sure to bring your Venturing Handbook on this adventure in planning. 12:00-12:50 Lunch Session 4: 1:00-1:50am 401 (CS) Cub Leader Specific Training for the NEW LIONS, Tiger, Wolf, Bear and Webelos/AOL Leaders: This basic, but required, training will help you get started on becoming a great Cub Scout Leader. Topics include: Handbook, Uniforms, Requirements, Awards, and ADVENTURES, Arrow of light and much more. It is recommended that you take "This is Scouting" online before attending this course. 402 (GEN) Dutch Oven Cooking: (3 Sessions Long) This course will cover both the basics of use and maintenance of your equipment along with more advanced issues of temperature regulation. Basic Dutch oven cooking brochure with some additional handouts will be available. There is an additional $ 5 Fee MAXIMUM 12 Participants 403 NEW! (GEN/CS/BS/V) (3 Sessions Long) Unit Commissioner Basic Training: The mission of unit service is to help units serrve more youth better through Scouting. This training will help you understand the commissioners role in supporting units, tools available and how to be an effective leader. 404 UPDATED! (GEN/Youth/BS/V) So What & Who are Ventures?: You ve heard of Venturing and seen the green uniform. You ve heard of a co-ed program for older youth. But what is Venturing and how does it help other units in the area and how does it fit into the next step of the Scouting family. Will have some Ventures on hand to help answer questions & tell you more! 405 (GEN) Technology in Scouting: This class will go over the different technologies that can be used in Scouting: web tools, devices, apps, and software.

4 Interested & Youth 406 (GEN) Chartered Organization Representative Training: This required training will explain the role and what the Chartered Organization Representative responsibilities are for both organization and the Unit that they are working with. There is more to this job than signatures. 407 (Youth/BS) The Boy-Run Troop: This course will show you the ideals of a boy led troop. You will learn how some of the youth leadership positions help the boy led troop process. You will identify the pitfalls of the adult activity in the boy led troop. You will learn how to transition to a boy led troop. 408 (BS/OA/GEN/Y) Teambuilding: Learn how to use team building activities to promote a better team within your group. This can help develop a more successful team. Session 5: 2:00-2:50am 501 NEW! (GEN) Scoutbook "Tracking the Scouting Experience from Tiger To Eagle Scout. Learn how to track advancement and achievements the entire scouting career. You can upload photos and videos, send messages to leaders and parents as well as plan events all using ScoutBook." 502 UPDATED! (BS) SM Conferences This module will teach Scoutmasters, assistant Scoutmasters, and other troop leaders about the purposes of the Scoutmaster s conference and will offer suggestions for questions that could be asked at these conferences. 503 UPDATED! (CS) Cub Leader Specific Training for the Cub Master: This basic training will help you get started on becoming a great Cub Master. This is a required course to become trained and helps toward making your Journey to Excellence requirements. It is recommended that you take This is Scouting on-line before attending this course. 504 (GEN) Leave No Trace: Participants will identify personal nature awareness and stewardship goals. Advanced skills, but simple ones will be learned to ensure a minimum-impact experience on all outdoor experiences. At the end of the class, participants will be able to develop an action plan for implementing Leave No Trace principles on future outdoor activities. 505 (Youth/BS) Troop Elections 101: This will be an open forum discussion on different ways and ideas of how to conduct troop elections. Please have a general understanding of how your troop gets leadership positions. This open forum will be moderated to get the ideas out on how to fill youth positions. We will also look at the positions and the scoutmaster s role in the election process. This is open to both youth and adult members. 506 (BS) Merit Badge Counselor Orientation: Merit Badge Counselors are key to the success of the Merit Badge program. This required training will explain the responsibilities of the counselor and how the requirements are to be completed. Learn who is eligible and how to sign up. 507 (CS) Blue & Gold Planning: This session will discuss the planning of a Blue & Gold Banquet for a Pack. You will have the basics to plan a fun and enjoyable event that Cubs and their parents will remember and talk about for a long time. 508 NEW! (GEN/CS/BS/V) Why Woodbadge?: What is Wood Badge? What can Wood Badge do for me and my unit? Learn how this vital training course will benefit you as a Leader, meet new friends, have fun, and how the leadership skills you learn will apply to your day-to-day work.

5 Interested & Youth 509 (OA) Elangomat Training: This training will help you prepare to willingly give of yourself to help others realize the purpose and spirit of the Order of the Arrow. 510 NEW! (V/Y) Introduction to Leadership Skills for Crews (Part 1) (2 Sessions Long) The basics to leadership and the role of crew officers in running a successful crew. This course is designed to create a Crew vision, how to effectively communicate goals and planning. How to make group decisions, why and how to delegate to others. This will be interactive course taught by Crew 361. We are recommending but, not requiring that you take Goal Setting and Time Management along with Project Management earlier in the day. We will follow the course for Leadership Skills for Crew, on the way to the Discovery Award (Part 2) at a later date in the year. Then we will retouch on those skills and discuss more about goal setting, planning, ethical controversies, and Team building! Session 6: 3:00-3:50am 601 (BS/V) Life to Eagle Scouts: Do you want your scouts to be successful in reaching the Eagle Scout rank? Then learn about the procedures that a scout must follow to move from Life Scout to Eagle Scout in the Sioux Council. 602 UPDATED! (BS) Conducting Board of Reviews: This module will train troop committee members and others in the purposes of the board of review, offering suggestions for the types of questions that can or should be asked. 603 UPDATED (CS) Cub Leader Specific Training for the Committee Member: This basic, but required, training will help you get started on becoming a great Cub Scout Committee member. Topics include: Budgets, JTE, Meetings, pack Policies, finances, uniforms, requirements, Awards. It is recommended thta you take "This is Scouting" on-line before attending this course. 604 (BS) Scoutmaster Do s & Don ts: Tips & Tidbits for Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters to help grow your Troop. 605 (GEN) How to Plan and Execute a District Event: This course will go over all aspects of what it takes to facilitate a district camporee, or similar event. Participants will go over simple budgeting, purchase orders, check request, and creating a theme. They will also learn more by working closely with their District Executive to facilitate the event. Handouts will be provided to volunteers. 606 (OA) Nimat Training: This training will help prepare you to help members complete the conversion to Brotherhood within the Order of the Arrow. 607 (GEN/BS/CS) Scout Awards-Beyond the Ranks: Learn about World Conservation, Leave No Trace, American Heritage Award, and Career Arrows. There are MANY awards and programs that take the Scouts above and beyond their rank advancements. We will also cover awards that leaders may earn.
