2 BTEC Apprenticeship Assessment Workbook Level 2 Team Leading The purpose of this part of your induction is to make sure you understand how you will be assessed, where assessment will take place and how often. You will also be informed of the support that is available to you during your Apprenticeship period. Note: It is likely that your assessor will refer to your Apprenticeship Agreement at this stage. At the end of this part of your induction process, your assessor will have discussed with you: the importance of meeting your agreed assessment deadlines the importance of being well organised to help you to meet your assessment deadlines how each component of your Apprenticeship framework will be assessed your next steps for progression, upon successful completion of this Apprenticeship framework. The pages that follow will enable you and your assessor to discuss the above points in more detail. HOW YOUR ASSESSMENT PROCESS WILL WORK Initially, your assessor will confirm with you the units that you will be doing. This will be as a result of the skill scan your assessor undertook with you. Your assessor will then explain whether your assessment process will be of a paper-based or electronic method, or perhaps a combination of both.the sets of activities contained in your workbook will also be fully explained. These expectations are likely to include that: you are committed to making sure all activities are approached with enthusiasm and completed to the best of your ability you meet all agreed assessment deadlines (and the importance of doing so) the work you produce is your own and is not copied from or taken from any other source (this is referred to as plagiarism) researched work is referenced properly you make sure you are available for agreed visits and appointments you regularly attend agreed training sessions arranged onsite or at your training provider s premises. YOUR TRAINING PROVIDER S RESPONSIBILITIES Your assessor will also explain to you what you can reasonably expect from your training provider. Your expectations may include: a suitably qualified, approachable and competent assessor a training provider that promotes fairness and equality for all of its candidates a training provider that has fully equipped educational premises that operate in accordance with appropriate health and safety laws a training provider that fully meets the expectations of the awarding bodies it works with and meets quality standards as assessed by the Government and other bodies suitable and appropriate learning materials to be supplied to you on a timely basis feedback from your assessor, at appropriate times, on your learning activities full support for you as required (for example, using IT, writing assignments, spelling) from your training provider s staff.
