N/a I did not know this document existed. 7/29
I'm pleased with the progress made. We think the school has done a great job academically with our children Not aware of the subject Strong infusion of technology to reach all levels of learners The school continues to strive for excellence by pushing the normal boundaries of education. I don't feel afraid to schedule a meeting. I haven't had much teach interaction but I feel like if I wanted it then I could easily arrange it. Great done!!! I think as a new parent it can be hard to tell where to prioritize my efforts. Perhaps this is just a natural progression but I feel like I am starting to get a good idea of my role in my child's second year. Neutral Goo progress They do a great job. I appreciate the efforts. I don t get to attend meetings in person very often having regular information about meeting minutes or a taped video presence/live link, I think would be useful. Really haven't heard much about it. None at this time No feedback Na As a parent I appreciate how the school works hard to keep parents informed on all things that are happening in the school.? Great achievement! I found it to be informative and thorough with all my questions. The school is doing a great job getting family informed and involved. Parents were more aware of events and learning progresses which is good. No comment 8/29
9) Please provide recommendations for the SIP for continued progress towards strategic goals: N/A (5) None (4) n/a (2) hold parent meetings for upper classmen N/a NA Provide strategies and supports to close the achievement gap in our students I strongly support the emphasis on research at earlier and earlier ages. Stronger communication through the use of technology. Less Paper. More training to all faculty to make it more consistent at all levels - not just elementary. More training offered to teachers who are not fully onboard with Google classroom, or in-sync with their grade-level team. Full usage of Google classroom would support the individualized, targeted learning goal. High school kids are treated like college kids and that took a little getting use too. Neutral Continue to improve None at this time. Information is key, making that info easy to access through already used mediums I believe is very useful. I love seesaw and class dojo so that I can participate without having to be there in person at the SAB or other on location meetings. Taped meetings would also be useful No recommendations to give. None at this time No additional recommendation at this time. Na I am happy with how everything is going so far. I have no current reccommendations 9/29
? I strongly suggest improving proactive communication lines between teacher and parent (not just progress reports, but proactive forms of communication).... Keep the great work! /text alerts of deadlines for forms or payments. No comment 10) Please list any additional comments for this section: N/A (5) None (5) n/a (2) There needs to be more information given to parents of upperclassmen. I understand that they are "college students" but they are also still young and parents need to be in the loop about requirements and expectations. N/a Improve school security no matter the cost communication to parents about high school students grades, requirements, activities is lacking The monthly newsletter is a great addition to the informational portal. Always interesting to hear what the other grades are accomplishing, the accolades of the sports and various academic teams, and the upcoming events to include on our calendars. I am looking to help coordinate internship opportunities for our high school students. Get parent's their own Google interface instead of using the student's username and password. Interface Focus and Google Classroom for a one-stop-shop experience for students and parents. Teachers and faculty tried hard to keep parents up to date by also keep the high school kids independent. None at this time Na 10/29
It would be nice to have parent workshops on alternative times during the week as Thursdays don't work for us and they never work with our work schedules, so if this can be rotated to Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays, it would be most helpful and appreciated! Was not aware of the SIP More individual counseling for academics for college transitioning. Parental Involvment 11) The school provides opportunities for parent/guardian involvement:185 responses Strongly Agree 100 Agree 58 Neutral 20 Disagree 6 Strongly Disagree 0 12) The most convenient time of day to attend parent involvement activities/workshops is:185 responses Before school (7:00-8:30 am) 44 11/29

16) I am aware of the various volunteer opportunities available to me at my child's school:185 responses Strongly Agree 91 Agree 61 Neutral 24 Disagree 7 Strongly Disagree 0 17) Please list any additional comments for this section: N/A (3) n/a (2) None (2) N/a The school does good job on planing student events great PTO website and teachers are responsive to volunteer involvement PTO at this school is amazing at bringing the school community together and allowing parents to be part of their children's school lives. Maybe more rime options for inforational meetings None Not aware of organized voluntary activities for parents Teaching and Learning 14/29
18) The curriculum is appropriately challenging for my child:185 responses Strongly Agree 89 Agree 75 Neutral 13 Disagree 2 Strongly Disagree 3 19) My child's teacher(s) are considerate of my child's individual learning needs and abilities:185 responses Strongly Agree 84 Agree 57 Neutral 25 Disagree 10 Strongly Disagree 4 20) My child understands the expectations in the classroom regarding behavior and academics:185 responses 15/29

Value Count Listening to the teacher 127 Completing brief projects 53 Completing long projects 17 Writing 78 Thinking 88 Memorizing 19 Completing worksheets 43 Working with others 101 Working alone 21 Completing challenging work 64 Completing easy work 12 Recording, presenting, or demonstrating 47 Taking tests 70 23) What recommendations do you have to improve instruction towards increased student achievement? N/A (4) None (3) N/a Keep classes small We loved the very special projects that our child did in Mrs. Pavek's 1st grade. These were challenging and motivating. Would love to see more of the special learning projects. 17/29
checking in with students and parents mid-term. include parents in s sent to students regarding deadlines, etc. Each child is different and should be treated as such. Keep guiding & help the students improve their grades Explicit instruction and strategies to close the achievement gap and excel students' overall achievement levels The more critical thinking types of projects, the better for student readiness into the world. High achieving academic students should be put into groups/accelerated environments whether it's advanced classes or advanced learning groups in the individual classrooms - I am confident that the higher level students aren't being challenged in each subject. Math seems to be the only area where they have accelerated learning opportunities, from elementary and middle Just staying creative in teaching so that there is involvement by all students. Being able to motivate all types of learners with projects, etc. Provide parents with more details on the curriculum and additional resources so parents can assist and reinforce what is required for the child to learn in the classes. Help teachers to understand special needs (big gap). Ensure teachers are boosting the children's strengths and assisting their weaknesses. No comment More learning through play/projects Possibly more hands on/real world learning however I defer to the experts I find some of the current curriculums are not easy to understand. I think they are more difficult to learn. To continue allowing the teachers with the freedom to adjust lessons as situations change within the classroom. Have workshops for the students with a teacher that can help them work through any difficulty that they may be having with any of their classes. should ensure all students participate in group project Better linkage with FAU n/a I think the instruction given at Henderson is excellent. Improvement is needed as to how parents can better support their child's learning at home. We need more direction, as a lot of 18/29
the teaching styles have changed since we were our child's age. Listen to what the students have to say. None. More challenging special projects. For students to improve more, they should perform more hands on projects and listen to the teacher to process these topics. Communicate "Common Core" teaching techniques with parents. Should inform the parents of the child's progress and behavior Curriculum should match the textbook provided by the teacher 24) Please list any additional comments for this section: None (3) N/A (2) N/a Maybe a little less reliance on technology for homework. We feel there is so much of it for the kids to come home and have to hop on the computer for more we would like to see more creative thinking projects that do not involve just reliance on technology. Keep up the good work I strongly suggest at least two teacher-parent conferences a year. I don't feel one towards the beginning of the year is enough for us to truly understand how our children are doing. We should have at least one more in the 2nd half of the year so we have the opportunity to ask questions and understand how our child is doing. Really happy with the education here. Would recommend starting Spanish in the curriculum as well as more art in STEAM No comment I enjoyed the additional of google classroom None More tactile art opportunities. Ms Marbach has been of extreme value to my daughter's learning path this year, she cares for my daughter and wants to see her succeed. She deserves a commendation from teacher of the year! 19/29
None come to mind INSTRUCTORS WERE EXCELLENT AND OFFERED ASSISTANCE WHENEVER NEEDED n/a Spanish teacher is a great teacher. Very caring and effective. 28 None (3) N/a N/A Communication is key, shouldn t always be by technology, we need one on one with our teachers please Would like to see an open fruit bar again for the kids to choose healthy choices throughout the date. The menu and the amount of food for the kids should be updated. Serving amounts for growing children that are active and engaged all day should be upped. Lunch portions are minimal and not sufficient to keep our kids full during the days. I find that the teachers are very responsive and when needed I've gotten support that we needed at the administrative levels, it's also easy to get information needed and navigate to get questions answered. The staff is so great here. They work so hard keeping the kids safe which is becoming critical now. The front desk is super sweet. The nurse is amazing. The traffic controllers are so amazing basically risking their life and dealing with some serious dangerous drivers. The Principle/V.P. are so approachable and professional. I think sports/club communication would be great to improve & there would be more involvement. For instance and huge calendar with EVERYTHING (acadmics, sports, clubs, competitions, trips,) on it would be so great. Another example is communicating ahead of time of weekends the clubs would be competing, etc. Some parents have to arrange work schedules to drive the kids. You all are amazing teachers and work so hard and I support you in every way. We feel so lucky to have Mrs. Schaefer for kindergarten. She truly has a gift for teaching Excellent school, amazing staff. It's clear that everyone is on the same page! best school hands down because of parents engagement. The staff at ADHUS is nothing shy of amazing. They make every parent feel like they are the most important family on campus! I would like to see more social and emotional support programs for the older elementary grades leading into middle school. In middle school, I would like to see that the students are continuing to build life skills in addition to the academics. I can't say enough about the relationship between the teachers and my children. They genuinely care about their academic goals, their progress and their lives outside of the classroom. They have been challenged to be creative while pursuing a program with academic rigor. The bock schedule has allowed for more electives which has been a plus as well. Would like to see the band brought back as I think most high schools have a band and that those students who attend FAU High might also have the opportunity to participate in FAU's Marching Owls. Not necessarily a full symphonic band, but at least try and put together some 28/29
small ensembles for students who may be interested. We truly appreciate all of your feedback, and your involvement in your child s education! 29/29
