10 Expectations about homework Teachers will write down the homework in the homework column at the side of the whiteboard. Students to copy down the homework in their handbook. Teachers to include deadlines for the assigned homework. Expect all pupils to complete their homework and hand it in on time.

19 Mathematics Format of Paper Paper 1 includes Booklet A and Booklet B to be completed within 50 minutes without the use of calculator Booklet A 15 Multiple Choice questions (Ten 1- mark questions and five 2-mark questions) Booklet B 15 Short Answer questions (Ten 1- mark questions and five 2-mark questions)
20 Mathematics Format of Paper Total marks for Paper 1 40 marks Paper 1 - testing speed and accuracy (30 questions within 50 minutes) Need to be fast with computing the arithmetic operations (add, subtract, multiply and divide) accurately. Some questions will be set at Comprehension and Application levels.
21 Mathematics Format of Paper Paper 2 Five 2-mark Short-Answer questions followed by thirteen 3-mark to 5-mark Long-Answer questions to be completed within 1 h 40 min. Pupils are allowed to use calculator only for Paper 2 Total marks for Paper 2-60 marks. Questions are set at Comprehension and Application levels.

26 Mathematics Suggested Activities To improve on Solving Maths Short Answer Questions Read and comprehend the question carefully underlining the key words and Mathematical information (e.g. numbers/fractions) given. Always show the working (Paper 1). Method marks will be awarded if the methods used are correct even when the final answers are wrong. Exercise patience and self-discipline while doing Mathematics questions. Be organized in showing all the steps of the required workings. Do not skip any steps just to be fast.

The text may be in the form of news items, announcements, advertisements, conversations, speeches and stories. Demonstrate understanding the content of a variety of spoken texts. Identify key messages, main ideas and details in a variety of spoken texts. Infer and draw conclusions by listening critically.
43 Mother Tongue MT and FMT Paper 4 (ICT-enabled Oral examination) Reading aloud Students are required to read aloud, pronounce and articulate words clearly and read fluently with appropriate expression and rhythm in order to convey the information, ideas and feelings in a passage. Video conversation Students are required to converse effectively with grammatical accuracy based on a video clip. Students may elaborate by giving examples, share their opinions, thoughts and personal experience.
