3 AAT Bookkeeping Award (Level 1) This course is ideal if you are thinking of a change in career or if you are running your own business. It is the first step onto a successful career in accountancy. It will provide an introduction to bookkeeping, covering areas such as single-entry bookkeeping, cash & credit transactions, financial documents and using spreadsheets effectively. An AAT registration fee of 40 is required if students do not have AAT membership, but a bursary fund is available for those who may need financial assistance with this. Students should have a good command of the English Language & good computer skills. 7 English For Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) These classes are for adults whose first language is not English. All students work towards a nationally recognised ESOL qualification (ESOL Skills for Life in Reading) and the course will support your reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. The fee is 150 ( 245 non EU), which includes exam and materials fees and 4.5 hours of classes per week for 10 weeks. Unemployed students in receipt of income-related benefits may be entitled to the course for free.
