1 Math Curriculum Fifth Grade The Fifth Grade math curriculum provides students with an on-going foundation in basic math skills and strategies to enhance comprehension of new concepts and skills. A variety of teaching methods and hands-on support are used for every unit of study. Critical thinking and logical reasoning are promoted through verbal, written and visual prompting. Team playing for competition and peer encouragement supplements the teacher s guidance. Individual instruction and evaluation empowers each student to work to their full potential. I. Number Sense A.
