2 YEAR 10 LEARNING EVENING - TOP TIPS FOR SUCCESS 1. Set up a suitable environment for study and help with the practicalities. Fix a set time for homework and relaxation time which is vital. 2. Encourage your child to review their work and spend time throughout the two years on revision notes, work out how your child revises best. 3. Keep up communication with the school, let us know if you have any concerns through the form tutor or subject teacher or year team leader. 4. Have high expectations and reinforce that attitude, appearance, punctuality, reliability and contributing to the school community are also very important. We focus on GELs skills with the students so they understand the importance of developing their wider skill set. 5. Be aware of the different online opportunities for revision for each subject. Also be aware of the curriculum handbooks for KS4 on the school website under the curriculum tab which will give you information for each GCSE and Btec subject studied. 6. Be aware of how your child learns best and encourage them to use this to support their learning e.g. are they a visual learner. P a g e 2 12
