2 Part II Course Details 1. Abstract (A 150-word description about the course) This course presents a systemic approach to the study of the human body. Lecture presentation begins with an introduction of anatomical terminology and an overview of cellular processes and tissue classification. Students then learn the gross and microscopic anatomy and the function of the following systems: integumentary, musculoskeletal, nervous, circulatory, respiratory, digestive, renal, urogenital and endocrine. The laboratory component of the course generally parallels and reinforces lecture concepts through the use of models, histological slides and skeletal materials. 2.
