SCIENCE- PHYSICS: To complete the assignment on Chapter Electricity in Physics note book. CHEMISTRY: To complete the assignment on Chapter Acid, Bases and Salts in Chemistry note book. BIOLOGY: To complete the assignments on Chapter Life Processes in Biology note book. MATHEMATICS- Exploring Pascal s Triangle- 1. History and Explanation 2. How do you construct it? 3. Practical uses of Pascal's Triangle. 4. Real life Examples/Models Exploring Fibonacci sequence 1. History and Explanation 2. Fibonacci numbers in nature 3. Fibonacci sequence in life 4. Real life Examples/Models Instructions This will be a group activity (3-4 students per group). Each group will prepare Powerpoint Presentation on one of the above mentioned topics as decided by the teacher. Students will prepare their individual Project Reports. General lay -out of the Project Report has the following format

How would you proceed? 3-10 (may change) Procedure (with pictures) 11 Mathematics used involved 12 Conclusion / Result 13 List of resources(list of encyclopedia, websites, reference books, journals etc.) 14 Acknowledgement SOCIAL SCIENCE- Project Work:COMPULSORY Every student has to undertake any one project on the following topics: 1. Disaster Management- Take any one Natural disaster a) State the causes of the Disaster b) Suggest a few mitigation measures c) Which regions in the world are usually affected by this disaster? Paste the relevant pictures and a map showing the areas affected by the particular natural disaster. Do it in a scrap book and project could be of maximum 8 pages. OR 2.Popular Struggles and Movement There have been many struggles and movements initiated by citizens and leaders in India that have changed the nation in many ways. A few examples of the most powerful movements in India are 1. Save Silent Valley Movement in 1973; to protect the Silent Valley, a tropical forest in Palakkad district of Kerala. 2. Chipko movement in 1973; protest against deforestation. 3. NamantarAndolan in 1978; to change the name of Marathwada University in Aurangabad to Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University
3 4. Jungle BachaoAndolan in 1980's; against the replacement of natural sal forest with teak in Bihar, Odisha, and Jharkhand. 5. Narmada BachaoAndolan in 1985; against the building of numerous dams near Narmada river. 6. Jan Lokpal Bill in 2011; Anti-Corruption movement by Anna Hazare 7. Nirbhaya movement in 2012; After the Delhi gang rape. Hope these help in making the project. Make a project of any one of the above or any other recent topic with special emphasis on a. Definition b. Objectives c. Method and d. Achievements e. Conclusion. General Instructions: 1. The project should be hand written with sub-heading of each point. 2. It should be well presented, researched, and pictorial. 3. Cover page, table of contents, acknowledgements, bibliography, headings and sub headings are a must. 4. Each section should be done on white/colored A4 size sheets. 5. The project should be presented in a file. 6. The project should not exceed 10 pages. OR Money and Credit(Economics) General Instructions to prepare the project: i. The project should be simple and brief. ii. It should be handwritten (approx pages). The cover page should be neat and simple in presentation. iii. More credit will be given to original drawings, cartoons and illustrations. iv. The project will be assessed on the basis of content, presentation and research work. The project should include following sub-topics: a. Barter system- features and problems b. Money as a medium of exchange c. Modern forms of money d. Role of Reserve Bank of India in supervising commercial banks e. Role of Self Help Groups (SHGs) in providing loans in rural areas.
