1 General Information, Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy Dated:

2 What is the Intervention Hub? is a secure online domain that currently holds nine computerised programmes known as Hubs that are designed specifically to address offending and other problematic behaviours. IC LTD is utilising a genre of treatment known as Computerised Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CCBT). CCBT is an endorsed treatment by the National Institute of Health and Care Excellence (NICE, 2006, 2009). It can be defined as a generic term that is used to refer to a number of methods of delivering Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) via an interactive computer interface (NICE, 2006). Our programmes (Hubs) are based primarily on CBT, but also make use of other theoretical modalities. Upon subscription, users will be able to access the following programmes: Thinking and Social Skills Hub Domestic Abuse Hub Victim Awareness (Restorative Justice) Hub Anger Management Hub Wellbeing and Resilience Hub Alcohol Awareness Hub Cannabis Awareness Hub Women s Hub Youth Hub Education and Employment Hub (available in May 2018). From 2018, one additional programme (Hub) will be added each year. These Hubs can be used alone or with a professional. is can be accessed via any computer, smart phone, tablet or any device that has access to the internet. This includes any android or IOS device. Users can access the Intervention Hub 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Users are also offered access to a 24 hours a day 7 days a week helpline for technical support. Intervention Consultancy LTD has the largest selection of online programmes that address offending behavior and we have a proven track record of success utilising this technology with offender specific populations. To date we have achieved an average of 71% positive change rate based on pre-and post-questionnaires which measure changes in thinking and attitudes. 2

3 offers a cost effective and evidence based solution to addressing offending behavior. Subscription to it can be achieved via three different contract types: these being either an annual contract, three year contract or five year contract. All contracts offer unlimited use, 24 hours a day technical support and staff training. 3

4 What is the background to the Intervention Hub? has been developed by a team of probation professionals in consultation with a Clinical Psychologist. Our programmes are primarily based on utilising Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) but they also incorporate other theoretical models including: Mindfulness Desistance Theory Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Cycle of Change Motivational Interviewing Pro-Social Modelling. also gives practical advice via task setting and signposting. Our programmes have been carefully designed to cater for all learning styles. We achieved this by including into our programmes: Audio bars for those with reading difficulties Visual content such as videos and diagrams Written instructions Case examples Skills practice Downloadable content. Each programme is separated into sessions and each session is broken down into three areas. These three areas are: Knowledge - The user is presented with multi-modal information to help develop an awareness of the subject matter. Understanding- Reinforces and assesses understanding whilst also helping practitioners identify any areas of concern or development. New Skills - The user is offered a number of problem solving strategies and skills to make sustainable changes. They are also able to download a PDF summary of the new skill that they can use outside of the session. 4

5 The user is required to complete a pre and post completion questionnaire to measure change and offer their own feedback on the programme. At the end of the programme the user can download a certificate of completion and a post programme report is automatically sent to the relevant Probation Officer or referring professional. This report is sent to the professional s account within 24 hours of the user completing the programme. 5

Healthy Relationships, Unhelpful Beliefs, Male Privilege, Minimising, Blaming and Denying, Intimidation, Using Pressure and Threats, Using Economic Abuse, Using Isolation, Using Children, Dealing with Anger. Using Alcohol and Monitoring use, Effects of Alcohol Use, Impact of Alcohol on the Community, Alcohol and Crime, Dealing with Peer Pressure, Using Alcohol to Solve Problems, Addiction, Tolerance, Relapse Prevention Planning. An Introduction to Cannabis, Effects of Cannabis, Consequences of Getting Caught with Cannabis, Cannabis and the Law, Dealing with Peer Pressure, Using Drugs to Solve Problems, Addiction, Tolerance, Relapse Prevention Planning. What is Anger? Dealing with Unhelpful Thoughts, Changing Thoughts, Feelings Surrounding Anger, Spotting Anger Signs, Consequences of Anger, Handling Conflict, Anger Prevention Planning. Considering Options, Making Better Decisions, Considering the Impact, Goal Setting, Considering Obstacles, Perspective Taking, Evaluating Problems and Problem Solving, Building Confidence and Action Planning. Coping with Worry and Low Mood, Addressing Low Self Esteem, Introducing Mindfulness, Dealing with Negative Feelings, Coping with Stress, Relaxation Skills, Improving Physical Health, Improving Sleep, Developing a Healthy Mind, Visualisation Skills and Improving Work / Life Balance. Problem Solving, Goal Setting, Anger Management, Understanding the Impact of Peer Pressure, Building Protective Factors and Developing a Support Network. Women s Hub Emotion Regulation Skills, Building Self Identify and Self Worth, Developing a Support Network, Understanding the Consequences of Offending and Problem Solving Skills. The Education and Employment Hub (Available May 2018) Considering Options, Building Motivation, Goal Setting, Obstacles, Overcoming Adversity, CV Writing, Job Applications, Interview Skills, Disclosure and Managing Rejection. 6

7 Who s is suitable to use the Intervention Hub? is designed for both men and women. The basic suitability criteria for using the Intervention Hub in line with our research is as follows: Ages 13 years + Some motivation to change and acceptance of areas of needed development Low level / basic reading skills required (if undertaking Hub alone) Low, Medium and High risk of harm (Probation and Youth Offending Teams) Low Very High likelihood of reoffending (Probation and Youth Offending Teams) Note: The Domestic Abuse Prevention Hub is only available for men in heterosexual relationships at this time. 7

8 How effective are the programmes? IC LTD are the only company that have tested CCBT based approaches with an offender population in England and the Isle of Man. To date our average results have been: 71% showed a positive change in pre and post questionnaire scoring (measuring change in thinking and attitudes) 78% of offenders would recommend it 73% of offenders report that they found it useful 68% completed it outside the hours of 09:00-17:00 68% completed the programme on their own device 99% of post programme reports were sent within 24 hours of the service user completing the programme. We have also been independently reviewed by the University of Liverpool. 8

9 How does a professional use the Intervention Hub via an organization subscription? is an online secure website that allows users to work through structured CBT based programmes. Those who access the Intervention Hub can either use it alone or with a professional. The complete process map for a professional wishing to use the Intervention Hub is as follows: 1. The professional or member of the public completes a referral form online 2. Team send the referrer a unique username and password 3. The user accesses the Intervention Hub and selects the programme they will be using 4. The user completes the programme 5. The professional receives a Post Programme report immediately upon completion of the programme that records all the information the user has inputted and the results from the pre and post questionnaires that measure change. 9

10 How secure is the Intervention Hub? To date, nine Programmes (known as Hubs) have been developed with more being developed each year. Each Hub has its own unique domain (website) but all can be accessed from one main domain. All Hubs are protected by several layers of security: SSL Certificates (HTTPS) - SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is the standard security technology for establishing an encrypted link between a web server and a browser. This link ensures that all data passed between the web server and browsers remain private and integral. Anonymised referral forms Organisations or individuals wishing to obtain a username and password for their users complete a basic referral form that is submitted to a centralised account. The referral form requests basic information such as: Address, Age, Gender, Sentence Type and Risk Level (if on probation). Therefore no identifiable user information is held by IC LTD. Restricted User Access To access each Hub, each user is given a random username and password following receipt of a referral form. Organisations are encouraged to record their usernames against the users actual data on Government recording systems so that they can cross reference appropriately. All passwords that are stored for users on the database are encrypted using MD5 encryption. MySQL Database - This is where non-identifiable user information is stored and is known as the back office. These databases are separate from the Hubs and only accessible by IC LTD staff. Back Office Support Officer Each referral is assessed by a professional who manages the referrals and back office. All referral information is checked for accuracy and that it has been received from a valid address. 10

11 How much does it cost? For organisations, we offer three subscription options to be paid annually. All three subscriptions include: Unlimited access to all the programmes on the Intervention Hub A new programme each year Two training events for staff in year one and one each year thereafter 24 hours/ 7 days a week technical support line Quarterly progress meetings with the contract leads Quarterly reports (from month six) Annual report Three newsletters per year for staff All advertising materials The three subscription / contract options are: An annual contract Three Year Contract Five Year Contract: Please contact IC LTD for a quote. Public Access The public can access the Intervention Hub. However at present the public can only buy access to the Wellbeing Hub. This costs 38 + VAT. Refund Policy IC LTD cannot offer refunds to those who have completed or started the programme. However, if an individual user has not commenced the programme within 14 days, then we will offer the individual a full refund. We will pay this back on request by and within 30 business working days. 11

12 Terms and Conditions Before accessing any programme on the Intervention Hub, the all users will be asked to sign a disclaimer / declaration. This includes that the user understands the following: The user understands that changing my behaviour is my own personal responsibility The user understands that the programme is designed to increase my knowledge and understanding on the subject matter and equip me with useful tools to help me. The user understands that this programme does not guarantee a change in my behaviour, thoughts or feelings. The user understands that completion of this programme does not necessarily mean that my risk level will change (if subject to probation or youth offending services). The user understands that the data I input into this hub is recorded on a post programme report. The user understands that this post programme report will be sent to a person(s) designated by the organisation that has purchased this programme (if purchased as part of an organisational subscription). The user agrees to release Intervention Consultancy LTD and any associated business or organisation involved with this programme from any liability for personal injury or any other damage I or others may sustain whist I engage with this programme. The user understand that this programme does not provide a diagnosis of any kind. The information provided in the pre and post questionnaires cannot constitute a full evaluation by a professional, and should only be used as a guide. The user understands that IC LTD cannot be held accountable for any suicidal or self harm thoughts and behaviour. Users should also be advised that the Intervention Hub should not be used as a replacement for professional treatment being received by a professional. 13 What happens if we believe you or another person are at risk? There are certain times when we are unable to protect the privacy of your personal information. For example, if you or another person is believed to be at risk or serious harm (life threatening physical or emotional harm). In this instance, we may need to contact you, the police or any professional you have identified you are working with. Privacy Policy To provide services to you, we need to collect some information from you. What information will we collect if you access the Intervention Hub via a organisational purchase (E.g. Probation Officer giving you login details)? If you access the Intervention Hub via another organisation such as Probation, we do not collect any personal information. We do collect non-identifiable details such as: Age Gender Offence Type (if applicable) Risk Level (if applicable) Sentence Type and Length (if applicable) We also collect the address of the professional who has referred the user. What information do we collect if you access if the public access the Intervention Hub? Please note, the public can only access the Wellbeing Hub. If you sign up as an individual, then when you sign up to participate in the Wellbeing Hub, we will collect the following information: Your name Gender Billing address address 13

14 Post code Telephone or mobile number Date of birth. Please note, we do not collect cookies. How will we use the information you collect about me? For those that sign up as a member of the public we will use some of your personal information for the following purposes: For administration purposes, which means that we may contact you for reasons related to the service you have signed up for To process payments To contact you about a submission you have made to the web sites, including any content you provide. Note, this will only occur if we believe you or another person is at risk. We will also contact you if there is an issue regarind processing payment We will use non identifiable data from organisational subscriptions and information from those who purchase access via the public to help us develop our evidence base for our product. The information we collect specifically relates to the following areas: Ø Changes in pre and post questionnaire Ø If the user would recommend it Ø If the user found it useful Ø If the user completed the programme outside the hours of 09:00-17:00 14

15 How will we use the information you collect about me if I have accessed the Intervention Hub via an organisational purchase? We do not collect or share any personal information of the user with any organisation for those who have accessed the Intervention Hub through an organisational purchase. We do however share non-identifiable data with the organisation who has purchased a subscription to the Intervention Hub for the purposes of research and informing outcomes for management reports. We will also use outcomes for our own marketing purposes. We do collect the work address of the professional who has made the referral so that we can share the post programme report of the user they have referred. This report contains all the information the user has inputted into the programme and scoring from pre and post questionnaires. What happens if we have inaccurate data in the event of a user s changing circumstances or administrative error? For organisational purchases, we only collect static data (data which does not change) about the user. However, if the referrer changes, we do require that the referrer informs us of this change. We will then update our records within 24 hours. Of note, we do not share this information with any other organisation. To update records the referrer will need to contact: info@intervention-hub.com Where an individual has purchased access to the Intervention Hub, if they inform us of a change in details we will update our records within 24 hours. We will also inform any other organisations E.g. Payment processing providers of this change, within 24 hours. In rare event that we have made an error in terms of recording data, we will update any organisation we have shared this information with within 24 hours or correcting this data.
