1 Using the SANDI Data to Group Students by Levels Presented by: Mr. Main Site on October 17, 2014
2 Tasks for the Session q I. Summarize Student Raw Scores from SANDI q II. Generate Standards Report (Review) q III. Identify the level of your students based on the Standards Report q IV. Classify the students further into 3 groups in each Level
3 Accomplish this task individually or in pairs within 5-7 minutes. Work on the just first 6 students in your class. Task 1: Student Raw Scores You will be handed the SANDI Assessment Groupings Sheet. Go to the SANDI website ( and login to generate your students assessment raw scores for Fall 2014 on the 4 Domains.

5 SANDI Levels * Now that we have assessed our students skills in the 4 Domains using SANDI, it is time to LEVEL them.
6 Click on Standards Reports
7 Reading for Information * To determine levels for students, you need to run reports for each standard/level. * For example, there are 3 separate reports for Reading for Information: Level 1, Level 2, Level 3. * Begin by running the report for Reading for Information 1 (Level 1)
8 Reading for Information 1 Level 1
9 When you run the report, this is what you ll see.
10 Level 1 Students will have Scores Less than 80% on the Level 1 Report
11 How many students in this class are Level 1 Students?
12 How Many Students in this class are Level 1 Students? 0
13 Run the Reading for Information Level 2 Report
14 Level 2 Students If students have scores from 0-49% (Below Basic) at Level 2. They become Level 1 students. Level 2 Students will have scores between % (Basic) on the Level 2 Reports. For students who have 80% or more (Proficient), look at Level 3 reports. Do the 2 nd Part of the SANDI Assessment groupings worksheet for 7 to 10 minutes

17 Reasoning Behind the Analysis Activities BASELINE and END- OF- YEAR level of our students for Spring 2015 will be part of our year- end evaluation as an effective or highly effective teacher. Progress could be from Below Basic to Basic or Basic to Proficient on the same Level for any of the 4 Domains. OR a complete STEP UP to the next LEVEL. What s next?? We need to look into the specific IEP Goals, know what expected skills are on the NEXT level of SANDI, implement the right instructional strategies in our daily lessons to help them GET to the NEXT LEVEL.
