3 Prekindergarten Professional Development Page 1 All Content Areas EC0181 Curriculum Preview Theme Training #2 EC0233 Language & Literacy: CIRCLE 2 Day Training EC0216 Frog Street Curriculum Kit Training Participants will be trained to use the Pacing Calendar, Planning Guides, Scope & Sequence, and Frog Street Press resources to prepare for the upcoming theme. The Language and Literacy 2 day CIRCLE training is based on the most recent scientific research and on language development, letter knowledge, phonological awareness, written expression, read aloud, and math. This training is interactive and provides fun, hands-on activities, which teachers can immediately take back and implement in their classrooms. Pre-Kindergarten Teachers will learn how to use the Frog Street Press Pre-Kindergarten Resource Kit. EC0229 PreK Phonemic Awareness Participants will learn Best Practices and strategies for alphabetic principles, phonics and phonemic awareness in the Early Childhood classroom. Participants will be engaged in learning the process and activities to best teach students letter/sound relationships and phonemic awareness in order to prepare for Reading and Writing. EC0228 PreK Interactive Word Walls Participants will learn how to set up and effectively use a word wall in their classroom as it ties to the Prekindergarten Guidelines. Participants will be engaged in learning literacy activities to use in whole group, small group and work stations. EC0224 PreK Math through Literature Participants will learn how to use children's literature to help their students relate and comprehend mathematical concepts at their level. Engaging activities, resources and instructional ideas will emphasize how story books can provide a rich context for understanding math. CU2484 K-2 Dreambox Basics Participants will be given an overview of the program's adaptive features and resources. Participants will also learn about best practices for students, implementation options, running reports, interpreting data, and parent resources for the use of DreamBox at home. CU2583 K-2 Dreambox Reports and Teacher Intervention Tools Participants who have already attended Dreambox Basics training are encouraged to attend this advanced training. Participants who attend will walk away with a better understanding on how to provide support to the other teachers at the campus with both implementing Dreambox and running reports to inform individualized instruction and intervention. Participants will have the opportunity to practice using Virtual Labs, Leveled Readers and Hands-on Labs and will leave with complete access to all digital resources. TT3106 Primary Interactive Notebooks Participants will explore the structure, format, and purpose of the use of science interactive notebooks in primary content and laboratory classrooms. Participants will set-up a model notebook and practice integrating notebook entries while completing an exemplar lesson, in preparation to archive upcoming standards-based instruction.
