Instructions Fill out the section titled identification. Write all your answers in the booklet. Do not forget to proofread all your answers. Submit this evaluation situation to your teacher if you are following the course at an adult education centre or send it to your tutor if you are following a distance course. We recommend that you keep a photocopy of your work, just to be safe. When you receive your corrected copy, read your teacher s or tutor s comments carefully. 4 ANG Dare to Compare Final Project 2: Lease, Buy or Rent? Your teacher or tutor will evaluate this final production for Chapter 2. Make sure you do the work completely and seriously. There are three parts to this final production: a preparation, a written part and an oral part. The tables used to evaluate the written and oral parts are given to you below. You can use a dictionary, your Reference Booklet, and any other notes you have. Ready? Here s the situation: Public transportation is great but having your own vehicle can mean even more autonomy. It can, however, mean less money in your wallet each month. That s why the decision to purchase or lease a vehicle is an important one. Now, here is your mission for this final project. Your friend Scott has just finished his vocational diploma and has landed a great job in a downtown office. He started a few weeks ago and has been using public transportation. He likes it. It s convenient and cheap... but now his boss has given him extra duties that will make him travel outside the city. Taking the bus is no longer an option. He has asked for your opinion on the options available to him: buy a new car, lease a new car or use DriveShare, a rental car service with a monthly fee. Part 1: Preparing A.
