Mr. Creighton Bryan, Assistant Principal January 6, 2017 News From the Principals and PTA Report Cards: Report cards were posted in Skyward on January 5. In order to be considered on target for end of the year promotion, all semester grades should be recorded as a 70 or higher. Students who have grades below 70 are strongly encouraged to attend tutorials on a weekly basis from 3:30-4:30pm. The tutorial schedule is: Monday-Social Studies Tuesday-Math Wednesday-Science Thursday-ELAR Teachers may also be contacted about additional days and times. Wylie ISD App Download Today! We are excited to introduce the Wylie ISD App! This app is a "one-stop-shop" for Wylie ISD parents and students. With the app, you can access student information like grades, attendance, lunch balances and so much more! Search Wylie ISD in the App Store or Google Play Store, or click on one of the links below. Be sure to login to the app to access student data. Wylie ISD parents should have received an with their login information from communications@wylieisd.net on Monday, January 2 nd. If you did not receive this , follow the directions below: Click on the Login icon within the Wylie ISD app. Click on Forgot Password. Enter your login ID, which is your username from Skyward. A link to reset your password will then be sent to your on file. Once your password is reset, login in using your username and your new password. Help using and customizing the app is available by visiting our App Help Page. Dress Code Reminders: Allowable solid color sweatshirts with a large logo during the school day are: College or Military, WEHS, WHS or Marauder. Any other sweatshirt is to have a logo no larger than a credit card in the upper left corner. Students will be asked to place unacceptable sweatshirts in their lockers during the school day. On Thursdays, students who where a college or military shirt or sweatshirt may wear jeans. On Fridays, students may wear jeans if they were a Wylie spirit shirt. This includes Wylie Community club, organization or activity that a student may participate in during the school day or outside of school. Cell Phone Reminder: Students may bring cell phones to school; however, they are to be turned off and placed in their lockers during the instructional part of the day 8:15-3:30 unless the teachers asks that they be used to support student learning and instruction. Students should not be placing calls, receiving texts or calls, texting during the school day unless asked to do so by an adult in the building. If your child is ill, he or she is to report to the clinic and Nurse Shelley will call parents accordingly. Cell phones may be confiscated and returned at the end of the day if students are not following campus expectations. 2 News from PTA Allen Americans Spirit Night- A different kind of spirit night: The Allen Americans would like to invite our Marauders to the Allen Americans hockey game on Saturday, Jan 21st as the Americans host the Wichita Thunder on Star Wars night. A portion of each ticket purchased through this link will be donated back to Davis PTA. Coke Rewards: Start saving those Coke Rewards! We have a contest beginning shortly! Who wants the bragging rights of being a winner for it?!! PTA Membership: Davis Parents, it s time for some friendly competition between the Girls and the Boys! Calling all players to the field.students, parents, grandparents, Aunt s, Uncle s, community members anyone is welcome to back the future and support our children and school to join the competition and become a member! By joining the PTA you are donating to help sponsor events, help purchase items for the school, and much much more! The team that has the most members sign up during this time will win a Build Your Own Ice Cream Sundae Party! You may fill out the attached form or you can join at select Wylie ISD and the Davis Intermediate. Student Members are also on Mrs. Rudolph s PTA Student Advisory Council. They will have meetings with Mrs. Rudolph and get to do cool things like vote on the best pumpkin for the pumpkin contest. We will also host 3 more events this year exclusively for student members only. Have your student come join the fun and get more involved. Sweatshirts: We are opening up sweatshirt sales again! Please see the attached form with the design. Students may wear these everyday over polos. Orders must be turned in by Friday, January 20th. Birthday Celebrations: Did you know that you can celebrate your child s birthday on the Davis marquee? You can fill out the attached form or go to the link on the Davis website. Cost is only $10. College University Shirts: We still have them for sale. Fill out the form and send in with your student.
