1 SPRING 2019 INTERNSHIPS AT GLOBAL NOMADS GROUP (GNG) We, Global Nomads Group, are a collection of people committed to fostering dialogue and understanding among the world s youth. Bridging culture gaps and shattering misconceptions, we work at the intersection of cultural exchange, international education, and conflict resolution. Since 1998, we have reached approximately 1 million young people, on all 7 continents. Using innovative technology and interactive curricula, we bring the world into the classroom, connecting students to the people and places they often only read about, to learn firsthand about the issues affecting the world. We invite you to join us in our work connecting youth across the world. As an intern at GNG, you will gain first-hand experience in an international nonprofit. Working closely with a mentor, you will develop a work plan that fulfills the needs of the position, while also meeting professional growth goals of your own. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to participate in regular PD sessions, and tap into GNG s connections in order to expand your network. We are currently accepting applications for the following positions: Communications & Branding Intern Research & Evaluation Intern Curricular Innovation Intern Program Development Intern Compensation: Our internships are unpaid, but we will gladly support your efforts to secure course credit or outside funding. Time Commitment: hours per week for weeks from September through December. Application Deadline: The application deadline is December 14, 2018; however, we will review applications on a rolling basis until all positions are filled.

2 COMMUNICATIONS & BRANDING INTERN As a GNG Communications & Branding Intern, you will work closely with our Associate Creative Director to develop and enhance GNG s methods for engaging the world with our mission. You will support the crafting of GNG s story in a myriad of ways designed to appeal to different audiences. Daily tasks will entail both internal and external communications such as developing our Salesforce system, curating social media content, acting as an ambassador of GNG, working on communication processes, or expanding our evolving website. You understand the importance of storytelling as a vehicle for sharing a mission or message, possibly because you are seeking to share your own work/business/idea. You constantly innovate, challenge yourself professionally, and thrive in creative space. Your organizational & communication skills are the foundation of your ability to take projects from start to finish. Your problem solving & work ethic make any job possible, not matter how big or small. 3 RESEARCH & EVALUATION INTERN As GNG s Research and Evaluation Intern, you will work closely with the GNG team to build and position the research and evaluation program at GNG to serve as an example of best practices in the virtual exchange field. Responsibilities include conducting strategic literature reviews; writing research memos; and supporting data analysis of GNG programs. With support from the Research and Evaluation Manager, you will also take the lead on the first ever in-depth study of GNG program alumni. You have passion for cultural exchange, and an interest in using analytical methods to advance the cause of global education in the US and abroad. You are a systematic and creative thinker who enjoys brainstorming interesting and meaningful ways to collect, organize, use, and communicate data to a variety of audiences. You have stellar research and writing skills, plus an impeccable eye for detail. Sense of humor is a bonus. 4 CURRICULAR INNOVATION INTERN As GNG s Curricular Innovation Intern, you will work closely with the Director of Design, Innovation and Quality to develop and implement our virtual exchange programs in the US, Middle East and North Africa. Daily work can include contributing to curricula, e-learning platforms, teacher training, and documentation. You have experience with youth development, lesson planning, and/or program management and constantly seek new ways to reimagine and deepen their impact. You look for ways to expand and improve upon existing material, solve problems as they emerge, and generate ideas for new approaches. 5 PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT INTERN As GNG s Program Development Intern, you will work closely with the Programs Team to develop and implement our virtual exchange programs in the US, Middle East and North Africa. Daily work could include reimagining curricula or teacher training, working on our online collaboration and e-learning platform, researching innovative approaches and systems, documenting youth social action projects, and monitoring and evaluation of programs. You are passionate about engaging youth in cross-cultural connections and see the value in harnessing innovative media and technologies to achieve this goal. You have experience with youth development and/or program management and constantly seek new ways to reimagine and deepen their impact. Your research skills guide you to expand and improve upon existing materials and systems, while also generating ideas for new approaches. You have eye for detail and organization and problem solving is seen as an exciting challenge. You are comfortable with virtual connections, able to prioritize tasks, and self-disciplined.
