2 Nature of the meeting To introduce ourselves to parents To inform the help we can render to your children What are the general needs of the children Not a meet-the-parent session Questions/ issues about your child- will meet individually at another time.

3 Reporting Time for School Be seated in the hall before 7.40 am with a story book for silent reading If child is not in the hall by 7.40am, names will be recorded by prefects and action will be taken Pupils to be in school by 7.25am on Wednesdays as we have STAR or FTGP lessons.

4 Attendance Regular Attendance for school, supplementary/remedial classes and CCA Absence must be supported by medical certificate or parent s letter. Please call office to inform teachers of your child s absence. Exam Days must be supported by medical certificate if child is sick otherwise zero marks will be awarded. supporting documents must be given for special circumstances e.g. death of a relative

5 Key Programmes English Creative Writing Workshop for all Primary 6 students on Mondays from 2.15p.m. 3.15p.m. in Term 1 Primary 6 Camp in school during the March holidays on 17th and 18th March (Thursday and Friday) Supplementary lessons during School Holidays i) 14, 15 and 16 March (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday) ii) During June holidays (Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays) i) September holidays (whole week) 6G

6 Key Programmes Maths Enrichment Programme for all P6 in Term 3. Science holiday Supplementary lessons either in the afternoons of Week 1 or Week 2 of June Holidays Primary 6 Motivational Workshop would be held on 14th and 15th April and one Booster Session would be held in June and another one after the Preliminary examinations

7 Key Programmes Primary 6 morning lessons (from 7.30 a.m to 8 a.m.) which would be carried out in Term 2 Mathematics Conditioning on either on Tuesdays or Thursdays in Term 3

15 HOMEWORK POLICY Homework is an essential part of every child s learning experience. It is an extension of classroom instruction and it allows pupils to demonstrate what they have learnt. It provides parents timely information on the learning progress of their child.

16 HOMEWORK PARENTS SUPPORT Schedule a routine time for homework to be completed Give priority to school homework rather than tuition Provide conducive environment for studying and completion of homework Ensure that child completes his/her homework independently

17 HOMEWORK PARENTS SUPPORT Monitor the child s daily and/or weekly assignments Communicate with child s teacher when the child is unable to complete his/her homework Arrange with form teacher to secure child s homework when the child is unable to attend school Check that the child records his/her homework in the Pupil s Handbook

18 SCHOOL RULES Neat school attire with name tags Respect teachers and school mates Proper handling of school property

19 USE OF MOBILE PHONES Only to be used for urgent calls. Calls can only be made in the canteen or the waiting area beside the Guard House after school hours. Mobile phones will be confiscated if being used in class or any other areas. Switch off your mobile phones totally (Do not put to silent mode) Parents will be called in to collect any confiscated mobile phone. Repeated offenders will be banned from using the mobile phone totally.

20 USE OF MOBILE PHONES Mobile phones are not to be used for playing games, taking pictures or videos or listening to music while in school or out on excursions/competition. Take care of your mobile phone.

22 DSA The DSA-Sec Exercise was introduced by the Ministry of Education in It seeks to promote holistic education and provide students an opportunity to demonstrate a more diverse range of achievements and talents in seeking admission to a secondary school. The DSA-Sec Exercise is an admission exercise to allow participating secondary schools to select some Primary Six (P6) students for admission to Secondary One. The selection will be based on their achievements and talents before the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) results are released
