21 Rationale & Intent of SBB Each student is different and possesses different strengths To help each student find fulfilment in learning and be motivated to excel in what he/she is good at Starting SBB at lower secondary levels will better cater to the strength of each student in different subjects and give them a stronger foundation in subjects that they are good at A broad and inclusive approach, creating a more diverse and flexible education system, with opportunities for all 21
22 Eligibility Criteria for incoming Sec 1 students Sec 1 students posted to the N (A) course may be offered EL/Math/Sc/MTL at a higher level, based on their PSLE subject grades. Students have a choice to opt out of the offer. PSLE Eligibility criteria for offering higher level subjects: Course PSLE Standard Grade PSLE Foundation Grade N(A) A*, A - Express Option to offer subject at 22

48 CCA Policy in BV CCA participation is compulsory for all students in secondary schools with at least ONE CCA. Allocation of CCA is based on Interest, Talent and available resources. Attendance is compulsory and important. CCA activities will be suspended during Term 1 and 3 Common Tests, and 2 weeks before Semester 1 and 2 Examinations. 48
49 CCA Policy in BV School will assess requests for a change of CCA from students in the mandatory CCA on a case by case basis, and may allow for one change in CCA either at the end of Secondary One or Secondary Two. Students can only opt for a change at the end of each academic year. 49
