12 English/Language Arts From a biblical worldview perspective, we want to develop readers and writers who: Analyze and evaluate ideas and details Understand craft and structure Integrate and connect ideas Read and write with increasing complexity across genre and style Express creativity and discover their voice and strengths

13 Summer Reading Assignment Two novels/two parts All students will read Hatchet and will choose one additional novel from a selected list. Focus will be on plot and character analysis.

14 World History > Study beginning of civilization to the Roman empire >Develop Thinking Like a Historian Skills: map and chronology skills, analysis, investigation, critical thinking, and problem solving > Understand Timeless Truths and make connections across the study of history to today
