3 Chronological Knowledge and Understanding Use everyday language related to time Order and sequence familiar events Talk about past and present events in their own lives and in lives family members own lives and those their grandparents. Develop an awareness the past Use common words and phrases relating to the passing time Develop an awareness the past Use common words and phrases relating to the passing time Know where all people/events studied fit into a chronological framework Identify similarities / differences between periods Place ancient cultures in time using a timeline. Use key words linked to chronology: BC, AD, and decade. Use mathematical knowledge to work out how long ago, events in recent and local history would have happened.
