EITHER: Topic One: England (pages 3 8) OR: Topic Two: New Zealand in the Nineteenth Century (pages 9 14) If you need more room for any answer, use the extra space provided at the back of this booklet. 2 2 You are advised to spend 60 minutes answering one essay question in this booklet. INSTRUCTIONS Choose ONE essay question from ONE of the two topics: England New Zealand in the Nineteenth Century. Use the suggested structure outlined below to help you write your essay. Introduction Write an opening paragraph that briefly outlines your answer to both parts of your essay question. Body Write well-structured and appropriately sequenced paragraphs that answer the first part of the essay question. Write well-structured and appropriately sequenced paragraphs that answer the second part of the essay question. Conclusion Write a concluding paragraph that summarises your main ideas in response to both parts of the essay question. Begin by planning your essay on page 4. Start your essay on page 5. You should aim to write at least 800 words.
